A pair of deep in's on each side of the field only takes about 3 seconds to complete. The trouble at that point is getting the refs attention to get the timeout called, but it was certainly possible.

3 secs is borderline more like 4 or 5

Could you imagine the posts here and in the press if first we took a sack to end the first half and then we took a sack / clock ran out as we tried to get 20 yards and didn't get a 2nd pass in?

EDIT: We ran a quick short pass to the side (was probably supposed to be slightly deeper) and it took 4 seconds....

In college you would go straight down the middle and the guy knows he needs to hit the turf immediately to stop the clock. Then you use the time-out.

This isn't college.......
