IMHO, most of our mistakes in the past few years originated from Pete/John, mostly Pete's overestimation where the team was:
  1. This season, our top boys overestimate the development of players, their trade for Williams were the result. He was suppose to push us over the edge, but we were a notches from that edge.
  2. The same was the trade for Jamal Adams, we were just that one player from promised land, but we weren't there.
We also haven't enjoy the best coaching, from 2011-2014, we developed lots of star players, regardless of their draft positions. That hasn't happened for years now, we truly haven't develop any stars.

One could say that our top boys were drinking our own coolaids.

This team, (and fan base), historically emphasise the TE & S positions that are hard for players to make a difference from.

I don’t want to get to into the weeds since it s late but the idea Seattle did massive changes is largely overstated. Most teams are not running the same look Seattle is outside of broadstroking it but going out and signing an aging LB because he’s loved here when you know your defense is predicated on that guy being able to cover is another reason the head coach and GM should be criticized. Rams were smart with Bobby and he looked much better
Wagner was a good LB for the Rams but he wasn't the league leader PFF rated him as. He wasn't a difference maker and he wasn't worth $10M. He was an opportunity for the GM and sporting director to exorcise their personal ghost of not picking him in the Draft. The Seahawks may have done something similar this year by trading for Williams.
