I absolutely don't see the Hawks spending big money in FA but I absolutely could see them bringing in a veteran pass rusher to join the rotation like they tried last year with Jared Allen once the first wave of crazy money gets blown. I think it's a legitimate need to ensure the defense keeps rolling. Even more so given our schedule next year has some pretty good QB's on the list: Rodgers, Romo, Roethlisberger, Stafford, and Flacco not to mention the expected returns of Palmer and Bradford in division. Even Cutler can give you trouble if you give him time to throw.
Potential cap cuts who kind of fit that role are Trent Cole of Philly and Tamba Hali of KC. Maybe Justin Tuck from Oakland.
In addition, there are some UFA's who may not get the money they expect and could be willing to sign a short-term prove it deal on a great defense and legit SB contender. Brian Orapko, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jerry Hughes, or Derrick Morgan come to mind.
