All I was trying to say is that if the Seahawks make the playoffs, you deserve to be there as you would have faced all the tough teams. Sometimes teams make it there 10-6 with a cupcake schedule

Yeah the 49ers of OLD feated on a up and down Rams team, Expansion Saints, Espansion Falcons, Expansion Panthers for years in their division, the Falcons and Saints were not any Good till Mora ended up there and The Falcons dismal usually for years.

The realignment and having the West as we have it now was hard to swallow for the 49ers and Rams at first, Arizona was relocated and became respectable for a change and us having 20 plus years in the AFC west which was one of the toughest divisions in football for many years and then getting Holmgren as Coach right away.

The NFC West I think last count has sent the most teams to represent in the Super Bowl and had the most wins in a division for a while.

The Rams aren't in the top 10 on defense?

Rams dropped to 12th in defensive efficiency (from 10th). They’re ranked 6th against the pass and 25th against the run.

They have immense defensive talent that does not appear to be very well coached. Carroll and McVay are in some ways like perfect opposites. That’s both a tremendous compliment (for McVay especially) and a bit underhanded. The older defensive mastermind and the young offensive genius. Now, the young guy has to prove that he can win a playoff game with elite offensive efficiency and a sloppy —yet still immensely talented— defense that they continue to throw resources at to compensate for a lack of good defensive coaching.
Hmm, Wade Phillips is a great defensive coach and I don't think coaching is the Rams issue on defense, and it's certainly not McVays issue as he pretty much allows Wade to do the installs. The Rams issue has more to do with a poorly constructed defense than coaching. They built their defense around 3 great defensive tackles with almost nothing else in their front 7. Teams are having success running on the Rams because Donald is 280 pounds and if doesn't get that initial penetration he can be blocked by one guy allowing teams to double team Suh and essentially force a mediocre linebacking core to make plays.
