I wouldn't worry about the cap/year in a monolithic sense. They have the flexibility to do pretty much whatever they want this off-season; sign Clowney + Griffen, etc... The only real question is what the long term strategy for the team is. In other words, do you want to optimize your chances to win now (shorter window), or do you want to keep your window open for as long a possible? You can't efficiently do both with Wilson's contract.
