He did his brother a solid guys. It was announced hours after the Harvin trade in a successful attempt to steal back headlines. Why do you guys care anyway? There is no law against trading with whoever you want.

..because the premise is BS.

Boldin was going to be released absent a trade because the Ravens needed to part with the 6 mil salary. Vikings offered a 7. Niners offered a 6. Please explain where you see "a solid". The ONLY evidence you have of that is that the coaches are brothers.

In regards to the draft picks and teams involved..
How do you know this? How do you know the sources are correct? What is your source for that?

The same way we "know" all things of this nature. It was reported by a source far better than the intuition of a fan on a web forum who hates the team involved.

Oh the always reliable unnamed source.... They made the trade within 30 minutes Marvin. This is right from the brothers.

So?

Ravens got a 6 for a player they were going to release anyway. Vikings offered a 7 and Niners offered a 6. John called to ask if he was interested. Do you think that only brothers ever call each other to ask if they were interested? Do you really think another team was offering a BETTER pick than the one the Niners sent? Do you really think that Ozzie Newsome was going to give in to John on giving up a crappy pick?

Come on man.

It was ALL OVER THE LEAGUE that the Ravens were going to let Boldin walk. At the time I was a bit annoyed that the Niners had given up a pick for a player they could have gotten for free on a smaller contract. That changed when I learned another team was offereing a 7.

Let it go man. The "doing him a solid" thing was and has always been BS. John knew Jim needed a WR and knew he'd probably be willing to give up a pick for it. Its as simple as that. A lot of the "doing him a solid" BS has come from Seattle fans who are pissed after giving up a 1, a 3, and a 7 for Harvin.

Not sure where you get "doing him a solid".

If he knew he could call his brother and get a better pick....sounds more like Jim was doing John a favor.

Shocker...

Negative tweets from Killion and Kawakami in regards to the 49ers.

As for the grass....um....

....what exactly were you expecting to see after they built a freakin Ice Rink on top of the grass? They are about to dump a ton of dirt on it here pretty quick as well for Monster trucks.

Did peeps think they were going to resod the field BEFORE they did these things?

SMDH.

So it was all over the league that Boldin was going to be released or traded and yet 30 minutes before the trade went down harbaugh had no idea he was available. Marvin, give up. You are losing badly.

So, in summary. Harbaugh, shocked. Boldin, shocked. Baltimore fans, shocked. Marvin, not surprised in the slightest because it was well known all over the league.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, no. It's cute that you think that tho.

If you didn't know that Boldin was in danger of being released, then you simply weren't paying attention. It wasn't exactly a secret at the time and was even pointed out by a BALTIMORE newspaper that was quoted.

So if I have this straight....

1) Your opinion is that Boldin would NOT have been released.
2) There was no other team trying to trade for him.
3) Ozzie Newsome would allow John Harbaugh to "do his brother a solid" and trade Anquan for almost nothing when they really intended to keep him.

...and on top of all that, simply ignore the media reports that say exactly the opposite.

Really?

Just for good measure though...

Possible release:

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/3/9/40 ... ase-ravens

Vikings interest:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... oldin-too/

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... isco-49ers

"The 49ers weren't the only team interested in Boldin, Rapoport reported Monday. According to a Ravens source, Baltimore also discussed a Boldin trade with the Minnesota Vikings. But the Vikings didn't offer as much as the Niners, according to Rapoport."

...and retelling the whole story a year later:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/rave ... story.html

Maybe, just maybe...I'm not the one who should give up.

It was well known all over the league that Boldin might be released. Go check my last post to see SEVERAL posts from that time stating exactly that.

Don't blame me if you were in the dark.

As for Boldin, he WAS shocked...he didn't expect to be traded, he expected to be released after rejecting a renegotiated contract.

Ya know what tho?

I've made my point. If what I've posted isn't enough for you, then nothing ever will be (which is the most likely scenario here). I'm also VERY sure that nobody here really cares.

I'm out.

I'm pretty sure you said the grass problems were "solved" 2 or 3 weeks into the season. Some of us were telling you otherwise and how it would be a year long problem. Hope they get their "grass problem" solved by SB 50.

Come on Hawk fans, we are bigger than this. They sign a guy who got arrested for weed (which is now legal in our state), and we want to bash on them.

I'm all for bashing the 49ers, but lets not start to act like their fans. Go over to their forum and they think Marshawn Lynch is a criminal thug and half of our team is "dopers" because they took some adderal.

I have no problem with the Jerome Simpson signing.

FYI, the guy that stared this thread IS a Niner fan.
Not a fan of possession of pot being a crime myself.

Speaking of 49er fans, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and credit Marvin for introducing me to Tim Kawakami and a number of other sources. Extreme protests convinced me there must be something there .... and sure enough, there was.
