Schottenheimer and Wilson not on the same page?

IMO, Schotty and Russ just arent clicking at the end, when it counts. Bevell and Russ had a knack for the right plays that Russ would either find someone or pull it down and run. This year, it just ain't there. A couple of games have been so close but we just cant get it at the end. This is where turning Wilson into a "NFL" quarterback might be holding us back, we need him to escape the pocket not stand there and get sacked for a loss. Speaking of that, why does Russ refuse to throw it away?

He's trying to escape. He seemingly can't outrun as many defenders anymore.

He's definitely not running as much as he used to by design. Back to OP's point, the body language between Russ and Shotty today on the sideline wasn't good. You're right, they aren't clicking.

He is slower by whst we are used to. He cant escape like he used to.

He is slower and his turn and spin move no longer works. Back then that move produced great results. Nowadays it usually ends up in sacks.

Bingo. He is slower. Period. Said as much last season. Teams are very wise to his moves and even more so given they take place at a reduced speed vs a few seasons ago.

Actually think him and Schotty are clicking okay given this is their first season.

Pete might very well be the weakest link in that threesome right now...
