I wanted to revisit that Seahawks vs Redskins wildcard game in 2012. That was the game that RGIII sadly was lost for the rest of his career. Found the full game on YouTube. Some interesting takes:

1) For some reason I thought we kicked their ass all game long. Truth is, it was 14-0 Redskins in the first quarter.

2) The condition of their field was absolutely horrific. How on earth would their ownership allow such barbaric conditions especially for a playoff game?!?

3) HD was clearly taking over by then because it looked like I was watching a game from last season. Even the commercials and graphics were 2024 believable. Trippy.

4) I feel like it was an utter crime that they kept RGIII out there all game long until the fateful last play. He was clearly injured throughout the game and to me there is no excuse for keeping him out there. Had they put Cousins in a few drives or even plays before who knows if RGIII could have sustained his career. Hard to watch.

5) Russ was fun to watch pre-Ciara, pre ego. Fast, explosive, magician at times. Ahh, the good ol’ days.

Russ before Me3 was so much fun to watch and our D was forming into the greatest fielded in history with the LOB sans drama.

We had a small rivalry with DC for a few years, stemming back to our win when Hass slid into the endzone. Lots of their fans saying we disrespected Sean Taylor (BS...He was one of the best at the position ever) followed by some emotional losses to us.

That field, man. It wrecked RG3 and took out almost our entire pass rush with also injuring Chris Clemons. Not sure we get by San Fran on the road that year but we were definitely beating Atlanta until that injury.

I knew he played for the whiners, couldn't think of his name off the top of my head. Thank you!

And also I agree, the field was basically spray painted green if I remember right? They spray painted the dirt/dust. Pretty sure we had a thread on it

RG3 with the wobbly leg, grassless hard field with green paint, injuries all over the place, a gritty comeback win. This much I remember. It’s something of a classic in a way. Might be worth a rewatch 🤔

We had curb stomped the Niners just a few weeks prior.

We were, without question , the hottest team in football. Nobody wanted anything to do with us. Had it not been for the abysmal prevent D in Atlanta , I am confident we beat the Niners.

That New England SB could have very well been for a three peat.

IIRC we lost Chris Clemons on that brutal field that day. His pass rush was sorely missed a week later. That was cool watching Russ hustling downfield to block for Beastmode if needed.
