Team effort on Defense ..............

Two credited sacks.

Seven different players made tackles for loss.

Five forced punts.

Two forced turnovers on down.

And, concluded with denial of more than the 13 points given up as time expired.

Excellent team performance after 1st quarter adjustments.

Yeah the really came together after those adjustments. Hopefully they've turned the corner similar to last year and finish out strong.

I try not to worry about the opening drive. That's the series that the offense practices most during the week, those intial scripted plays. Later in the game, as things get more situational, the real strengths of the defense come to bear.

Earlier in the year the D took longer to come around, but over the last few games they have really improved. Of course it helps when the O does more than 3 and out and they get some time to analyze and discuss adjustments. ;)

I don't want to throw too much cold water after a decent showing by the D, but the Texans have the least productive offense in the league in both yards and points.

Nice post jville..

They had a bunch of QB hurries and hits. they just missed like 3-4 sacks .. I'd say in that second half they harassed him pretty good

Collier had a a decent game as well

Agreed, good points. The great thing here is that we didn't make a rookie backup QB look like the 2nd coming of Tom Brady for a full game, only half. The D held the Texans offense to/below their season average points.

I'll take it.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) limits the practice time teams have to work with. Some teams chose to invest considerable time into developing a complete screen game. Other teams make due with simpler bubble screens. Reserving time to work on other priorities. So there are good screen teams and then there are other teams that excel at other schemes they value and practice. There is only so much practice time and resulting practice snaps available via CBA guidelines

Well, they are #5 in the entire league in scoring defense. That's by far the most important stat for a defense imo.
Truly the bend don't break thing. Annoying at time, but they are keeping the scoring down.

They have two back to back second half shut outs of their last two opponents.

It's how you finish. :2thumbs:
