Deepest RB draft I can remember and we are set at the position. Hopefully other teams are going to look to get a RB in rounds 3/4 and leave some unexpected value to us at other positions.

Who I want us to take with our first pick, even if it requires a trade up:
Zabel, Tyler Warren.

Who I think we'll end up taking:
Colston Loveland, Emmanwori, or an Edge, LB, or CB.

Don't follow sports at all, anyone got the scoop on a starting caliber LB? I know Knight is still on the come up, but I feel like a monster LB is key to this DEF. Who's out there??

If we take Loveland, I won't complain.

Yeah, I still think Warren looks better, but he had a better QB throwing him the ball. Loveland is also 2 years younger. I just want this team to have an elite tight end for once.

Yep, you and John sure have the same mindset. Booker is not going in the 2nd and I am not suggesting drafting a OG rated for the 2nd round. Besides, do you really think any guard that's appeared in 1st round mocks will fall to #50/52?
I'm talking about one of the elite, versatile OL and even trade up to do it and plug in at LG with the ability to slide to LT later.

The defense will be fine without using that #18 on it. BTW, I support using 3 of our top 5 picks on the OL
just not our 1st.
Maybe you & John should share a fifth of tequila, have a couple Fireball shots and a few Canadian beers and hit the chukar hill early while leaving the dogs at home.
LOL. Because that's the position you'll be in if the cupboard is bare of shotgun shells in the 2nd.
Better hurry, There's a bunch cacklin' at the top of the hill & the few in front of ya are running fast uphill. Might have to ground sluice em'. Waiting for a good hatch sometimes takes a few years.
John's more of a pay to hunt pheasant hunter who for the last several years has been too cheap to pay the guide service and opts to chase quail behind his house.
I guess we'll see but if this OLine doesn't get fixed, chasing birds on Sunday will be the better option.
This should win rant of the year. Priceless!

Cinco-deuce here. I’ve been told I look 40 (it’s the hair dye).

I feel like I’m 80. Five dogs…and two kids still in the house.

That whole ‘empty nest’ that parents dread? Yah…bring dat shit on!!
Heh. :) It sounds like an old person support group. I'm 66 and my wife and I just had our 38th anniversary. And best of all, we've got a 30 year old daughter and a 20 year old son still living with us! To be fair, my daughter has high functioning autism, so getting her to a point where she's employable has been a struggle.

38th anniversary!! Man…congrats!!! That’s pretty damn awesome.

Don’t get me wrong…I’m going to miss my kids like hell. 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son.

I’m excited for them both…they kick ass in everything they do and are my biggest blessings…

I admire you and what you’ve been through. There’s no love like a parents love…kudos to you sir.

If Tyler Warren is available at 18 I would take him. If not, I would take Colston Loveland, Grey Zabel or Kelvin Banks, in that order. If all are gone, I would trade down to about 30 and take Donovan Jackson.

Thanks, I appreciate your kind words. My wife and I are cautiously optimistic that this is the year she's finally able to support herself. A couple of years ago she decided she wanted to become a medical coder. She's completing her Associate degree this spring and will take the certification exam later this summer.

Don't know where to put this but :

What is he supposed to say? We really like X and if he's there at 18 we are taking him to be our C for the next decade? If not plan B is Y at 50.

Maybe I'm being an optimist but if I pair what Kubiak has said about C's and what we did in FA I just don't think it's very likely there is no plan whatsoever draft-wise.

Yeah, we should have learned our lesson from all the raving about the big roles Geno and DK are going to have in our offense this year. This is all a game and it doesn't benefit us to broadcast our plans.

Our draft capital should net us with two very strong candidates to be starters in the next two years. One of each side of the ball is my prediction.

Given Charles Cross and Abe Lucas's performance/health/contract status, I'll also predict that John will select an Offensive Tackle as one of the two players... that'll slip into the LG slot in his rookie year... yet have the potential to transition to Tackle if Cross and/or Lucas aren't extended for whatever reason.

My bold prediction: Regardless of who the players are, I expect John to select two players before pick #40.

We likely have two years of Cross left on his current deal since I assume his option is a no-brainer. I doubt he factors into what we do this draft. Lucas could though.

pfft young one? Thats cute. This aint my first draft, sport. Zabel will be there at 18. I appreciate your guess (incorrectly) at my youthful appearance though!

Not mine either. I’ve actually been to roughly 10 drafts so I guess you can say I know a thing or two. Not saying he’s not going to be there, but to guarantee anything in the draft is ridiculous.
