He is a DE and we now have 16 million in cap.

Clowney?

Possibly or Griffin. Either one would be a good move for the team!

Thanks BJack. Best of luck at your next stop. He's a very good depth player. If the shedding of salary continues due to the roster limit of 80, I expect to see Jacob Hollister released soon. TE is a spot they have a lot of bodies - Olsen, Dissly, Willson, and plethora of draft picks, and they could use his $3M+ salary off the books for other areas.

I'm thinking who ever is a pass rusher, we probably filled our run stoppers with our drafted LB(isn't he noted for stopping the run?) and Adams.. we need Pass rushers now.

Said it in the Joey Hunt thread, cut now does not mean not on the team later, this is juggling time and restructure time as well, making room for things and then cuts again. Setting something up as well, we are not desperate for cap space unless we have a plan for something bigger coming or a lot of restructures.

Just speculating . What happens if Dissly pulls up lame again ? Olsen better have a banner year . Keep Hollister just in case . IMO

Shoot, until Clowney signs somewhere else, we are still in the mix. He makes the team better. If they could get him back, along with the addition of Adams and hopefully Dunbar??? This team gets a hell of a lot better on D.
Adams/Diggs/Griffin/Dunbar, that's one of the best in football imo.
Add that to Wags/KJ/Brooks/Clowney/Reed and the young D lineman we drafted, that's a nice looking rebuilt D.

Thank you Branden Jackson.

Branden was one of the better tacklers and someone the coaches could depend on to be assignment correct. I would like to think his departure signals that the coaching staff intends to extend greater trust in some of their younger maturing lineman.

As a tendered restricted free agent, Jackson was set to make a little over $2.1 million this year but cutting him would leave no dead money at all. --- [urltargetblank]https://www.fieldgulls.com/2020/7/26/21339424/report-seattle-seahawks-release-defensive-end-branden-jackson-nfl-news[/urltargetblank]

Hollister is a solid player, just not worth $3M+ (IMO). He would be 3rd on the depth chart if Dissly and Olsen are there. Willson is cheaper and is an adequate 3rd guy plus they have tons of young guys. They also bolstered their receiving corp so there isn't a need to have pass catching TE which is what Hollister offers. He's not a great blocker.

GOODBYE BRANDEN JACKSON, HELLO JADAVEON CLOWNEY!
Obviously Jackson was released to make roster and salary cap room for Clowney to return!
</Kidding... maybe>

Either way, best wishes to BJack, thank you for your service here, and as others have said, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in a Seahawks uni.

Clowney?
That's great, but some D-bag on Youtube is saying Hawks have like 6 mil in cap space. It's on that stupid podcast hawkblogger or something like that. There is one dude on there who thinks he is a cap specialist and is always talking about In-N-Out burgers and drinking wine swirling it around in the glass. I can not stand that dude at all.

Well put Jackson was a good hard working depth guy. I hope he does well wherever he lands.
