This whole thing about Wilson is crazy. So he wasn't a people person. Who cares. Many athletes are introverts and keep to themselves. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant weren't great teammates to many of the players and kept to themselves. How many Bulls and Laker fans hate them for it? I think people need to concentrate on the play and results rather than the personality.

Dude has been gone since March of 2022 and people are still obsessed with him. Dear God, let it f'ing go at some point. Some of you sound like f'ing 5 year olds :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
He's gone, we fleeced them in the trade. His team sucks a**, Hawks are a playoff contender. Good enough.
We have a good thing going on right here in Seattle.

I blame Russ 100%. Yes, the OC called and Pete didn’t intervene but, that call was to stroke me3’s ego.

BS. That call was due to incompetence with the coaching staff and panicking because they didn't know what to do. That call was going to happen regardless of whoever was the QB at that moment.

The article was pretty good though. Did you read it?

Team loss, not just one guy. Funny how people still think it's on one guy. Because the defense clearly didn't give up a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter.
Plenty of blame to go around. He's gone, it's a good thing.

LOLOL Yeah, but realistically it was Marshawn Lynch who brought up Russell Wilson & the "Blocked Call" in this thread by the OP.
Some folks just can't let go of the Russ hate though; which tells me that maybe at one time, they were likely big RW fans that feel somewhat betrayed by the way he Cut & Run from the Seahawks.

I heard it and that def. was pretty cold. Marshawn was clearly trying to reach out. He was the best QB in the history of the team, but we are finding out he just did not interact well with many of his teammates. No secret I was a big fan, now I'm just relieved he's gone. Not our problem anymore.
This team is on the rise, I'm more than happy with that.

This is the best approach IMO. It's a new season. Every season is a fresh start. And every season is different.

I love Marshawn. But having listened to several of his interviews, he's not the greatest communicator. The Sherman interview is an excellent example of this. Many of his issues with Pete came across as him expecting Pete to pick up on the vibe of what he was saying rather than the content. That isn't easy to do without misinterpreting someone. So, we can praise Marshawn for his authenticity. But it's worth considering how his communication style plays within interpersonal relationships. If you can't adapt your message to the receiver, you are at equal fault if that message falls flat. That's what his relationship with Russ sounds like—neither guy knew how to communicate with the other, so they never built up a relationship.
According to that interview, it was Marshawn (with a 3.2 GPA in College) that reached out to Russ, to give a TRY to "Communicate" & got a Blocked-Call for his efforts.
It was said by KJ Wright, that at the 10 year anniversary gig, other players were going to Marshawn Lynch and getting schooled on how to become a successful Entrepreneur, and that he was a "Really Smart Guy"

Over 3,000 yards, passer rating of 100 and 26 TD's......and numerous amazing plays with his feet and football savvy.

You grossly underestimate how important Russ was to winning that SB year. Including the SB itself. Many great throws.
I agree with you that people poo poo how good he was for us, it's major revisionist history, but the D took over the game. We only really needed the first two plays of each half to win...

I'm mainly just digging at Denver, obviously the Horsey play calling would've been a lot different in a closer game.

I think it was a bitch move by Beastmode. Another man going to social media talking about another dude, that happened in the "locker room". Of all people, Lynch knows how the media will portray it. His whole motto was not to talk to the media because he experienced it himself w/ Buffalo. Now he joins Richard Sherm as gossip girl for the whole world to see.

Also remember Lynch has had how many DUI? Drugs & gun possession. He also had a hit in run incident. He had a lot of issues in college too w/ drinking. He had hold out in camp, missing practice, not talking with Pete. only seahawk player that didn't go see the president after the SB. The list goes on. This is just physical facts exposed to the audience, what other stuff behind the scenes i wonder.

He should have just said I didn't F*** w/ Pete and Wilson was just my QB. Not, tip toe around it by saying well i dont want to sound like im taking shots and then goes full detail on an block number incident. Just for the record Lynch is one of my fav players, but he went Bitchmode on this.

The difference from what I've seen is Marshawn would be very honest about all of these things if asked as he doesn't try hiding his skeletons. Russell meanwhile did nothing to debunk the narrative surrounding him and Golden for example. I think when you're a leader of men (and women too) you must be open and sincere. If you hide behind an image eventually the image will decay as it's not real. People will rightly call you out for it. The need for some to think everything needs to be squeaky clean and shiny doesn't sit right with me as it breaks down our trust in each other and the ecosystems we create as a society. These issues are far bigger than football.

Well it took an entire season of success to get to the SB, so even if Russ had a smaller role in winning the SB, he certainly played a larger role many times during the regular season and playoffs.

I have my feelings about Russ like everyone else but I refuse to participate in any revisionist history. Say what you want about his personality, quirks, cringiness, character flaws, etc, but dude was a flat out BALLER for us.

I mentioned nothing of Marshawn's aptitude or intelligence. I'm speaking strictly on communication skills and, more specifically, on tailoring your message to different individuals. For example, Wilson graduated with a 4.0 in communications studies. However, he did not know how to communicate effectively with his teammates.

So, what does aptitude have to do with anything? Even the smartest people struggle to connect with others.
