I'm not quite sure how I feel about trading a 2nd and a 5th for a 29 year old defensive end when we could've used that 2nd rounder on a LB (which is a huge need next year), or used it in a trade with our 1st rounder to move up and get a QB...multiple giants fans are expressing that the Giants robbed the Hawks FO.

I smell some trades happening with our current roster to recoup that pick.

This article suggests he’d be worth a 4th unless the Giants eat more of his salary as has been noted. Would love the 2020 version of him to show up. He’s 29.

It sounds like we gave up extra draft capital to get the Giants to eat some of his salary.

We kind of have to. He's due $18 million this year. We have 10 games left, so that's $10.5 million. I don't think we even have that much money left right now.

The Giants are miserable and I think it contributes to Leonard’s low production this season. I’m eager to see him with all our talent around him.

I’m also eager to see how much of this year’s salary NY pays. Next year looks pretty sweet, only $5.9m base and no bonus due.

Overall, I think this is a great move akin to getting Micheal Bennet. Bonafide stud. Only 29. Under contract for 2 years. And don’t we have an extra second from Denver?

I love it. It's at a position of need and this feels like a year where there are no dominant teams and anyone can win it so why not go out and try to win. You have as many pieces as almost anyone. The one position I worry about is QB but even that is unfair as Geno can be really good for long stretches of time and maybe he settles in the second half of the year. You have a loaded offense, a great secondary, Brooks and Wagner are playing pretty well and now you added a piece up front. I like it.

The haters need to think about this a different way.

The Seahawks make moves to make their team better and compete for championships.

The Mariners look in trash cans to find half eaten sandwiches.

I'll take the Seahawks way please.
Just because someone is cautiously skeptical of a big move doesn't make them a hater. Hopefully it works out. It does seem like a sb kind of move. Let's hope.

Gotta say, I'm not sold on this trade. I'm not saying I won't like it, just not 100% sold on it. Our defense is really starting to come together and this smells like a one year spendy rental. I'm not sure it'll do enough for us this year to make up for the lost picks. Hopefully I'm wrong. Either way once the deal is done, he's a Seahawk and I'll be rooting for him every week.

It does seem like Pete and John are saying damn the torpedoes, we're going all in. Here we go. Will be fun and interesting for sure!
