Yes, I think it's less people thinking Hurtt deserves to stay and more people want Pete to go, too.Hurrt a fall guy? GTFOOH!
There were zero effective adjustments to the run today. He’s waaaay over his head as a DC. He looks to clueless and instead of directing his D just watches, as the wheels fall off. The Rams blew the D up with short passes over the middle, zero adjustments. The Digits ran over the D, zero adjustments. He simply is a reasonably solid DLine coach well over his head as a DC. The Hawks got run over yet again today it was inevitable they’d have no answers.
This guy needs to move on or to be moved out. The D not the O is the team’s weakness.
At this point if Hurrt’s not canned after the season Pete needs to go.
Seahawks have been to playoffs 10 times. Won a Super Bowl (should have been two if they just hand the ball to Lynch from 1 yard line). How many coaches have done better since 2010?
What does 'hasn't done crap' mean? They haven't gone to the Conference Championship? Is that the measuring stick? This again. The team hasent done crap since 2015. Even if they made the playoffs they were nothing more than pretenders.
We have to let go of the past.

Because less than half the league has made it that far in that time frame. Of the teams that didn't make it, the Seahawks have the most playoff appearances (5) and are tied for most playoff victories (2).
Of the 17 teams who haven't sniffed a Conference Championship game in that timeframe, 10 have won zero playoff games, 12 have made 2 or less playoff appearances, and the Jets and Broncos haven't even been to the playoffs at all.
Meanwhile, of those 17 teams, the Bears, Broncos, Cardinals, Chargers, Commanders, Giants, Jets, Raiders, Panthers, and Texans are all already eliminated from the playoffs again. These guys COMBINED have only 2 playoff wins since the 2016 season.
What the Seahawks have done has been frustrating, yeah, I get it. But it could easily be much, much worse and for MOST NFL fanbases... it is.
this is what’s called the have some context it can be far fkn worse thread winner. What does 'hasn't done crap' mean? They haven't gone to the Conference Championship? Is that the measuring stick?

What complacency? We've got a totally different offense AND defense the last two seasons compared to what has been the 'Carroll standard' in Seattle. They aren't being complacent. (I honestly, hindsight being 20/20, wish they HAD been complacent on defense. I vastly prefer what we had going under Norton to Hurtt's system.)Hasen't done crap means there's no progress. It's been regression. How can anybody be content with that? Just because other organizations have been worse make's it alright with you?
What is there to look forward to? What? The defense is an absolute laughing stock. The offense is mired with a mediocre QB and a horrid Oline. The coaching staff, including Carroll, is awful. I just don't understand the accepted complacency by some people.
This loss stung, but I can't imagine being wounded badly enough to start circling back to a point where we're saying Bevell didn't deserve his dismissal. But why Waldron? How many OC has Pete gotten rid of that really didn't do that bad while under Pete Carroll? Was Bevell so bad? And what about Schottenheimer? I didn't think he was bad. They were scapegoat firings to save Pete's job.
Head coaches don't usually get fired for maintaining a standard that makes them better than most teams in the NFL because most head coaches can't usually pull that off in the first place. That doesn't mean I'm happy about where we are, it just means I try to be realistic about what the alternatives actually are.
If guys aren't tackling, it might not be a scheme issue (I still think it is) but it's certainly a coaching issue.I don't think this is a coaching issue. Guys were in position, and our front seven, except for Williams, got manhandled.
Yeah it has to be a coaching issue at least in part. I think knownone is thinking “Pete obviously teaches what should be taught” so it’s something else. I would agree that they teach what they need to be teaching. The reason it’s coaching is because the players like you said don’t respect something and that IS on coaching. Multiple people posted clips of guys completely quiting on plays and not even trying to tackle. That is a coaching problem. That’s why there is such a disconnect on this debate. The pro Pete crowd focuses on the results he had early on and try to pound that into the debate. I see issues like players quitting on the team and question if hmm the message is just stale after 14 years. I still think Pete is a great coach but something is off and has been.If guys aren't tackling, it might not be a scheme issue (I still think it is) but it's certainly a coaching issue.
Tackling is the no1 thing a player has to do on defense. First thing coached. Pete put the wrong dude in charge and is compounding things by not kicking ass.
My fear with Hurtt was less about his football ability and more about his gravitas as a leader on that side of the ball. I think he is more bark than bite. That he looks the role in terms of demanding accountability, but isn't getting results. Guys SHOULD be afraid of getting their asses handed to them coming ti the sidelines after those drives we gave up. They aren't. One, Clint isn't even there, Pete isn't that dude, and I don't think in the end, Hurtt isn't either.
These players don't respect the scheme, and they don't respect the leadership enforcing it.
This again. The team hasent done crap since 2015. Even if they made the playoffs they were nothing more than pretenders.

Since 2016, we Bears fans would LOVE to win the North four times with 10-12 wins per year. I understand that Seahawks fans are restless, but the record since 2016 is far from “crap”. If you want to see a crap team, look up the Panthers. They trade away McCaffrey and DJ Moore and their draft picks. That’s a crap team with a crap owner. What does 'hasn't done crap' mean? They haven't gone to the Conference Championship? Is that the measuring stick?

3 total playoff wins - all in different years - in NINE years (including this year) IS crap. And the last 3 years - 9-8 or 8-9, 9-8, 7-10 is really crap. Any other team in any other city and he is gone long ago. Chiefs had the same issue with Reg Season Shottenheimer and his playoff failures. It has been NINE years since losing the Super Bowl and could have actually been winless in the playoffs if the Vikings make an easy field goal, the Eagles have their starting QB (or the game is 5 minutes longer) and the Lions are at full strength (though that was a solid win what 7 years ago?). There is no future with PC. Either it is hi coaching or his hiring of coordinators it is all on him. The Super Bowl afterglow (from TEN years ago) is long gone and his legacy is fading away.Since 2016, we Bears fans would LOVE to win the North four times with 10-12 wins per year.
