Why is Gamel out of the lineup today? He's not hurt and with a day off tomorrow and another one on Th, seems strange Servais gives him a rest day today. I'm all for getting Heredia at bats but that should come at the expense of Dyson and not the league's leading hitter. Or put Gamel at 1st instead of Motter, but don't take him out of the lineup.

Our team lives and dies with the ability to score 6 runs a game-we need all the offense we can get.

Probably it's the "if we give him a day off today, he'll get 2 days off in a row BS".
Give him a day off in a blow out.

Kind of hard to spot a blow out before the first pitch. ;)

They've played 19 consecutive days. Maybe Servais thought he needed the rest. I assume he's on the bench, ready to go in. :229031_shrug:

Gamel was reported to have a groin issue which was a day to day thing, now they say it's a lymph node issue and.. yet to be determined.

Not our best effort in this series against Houston. Lets sweep Philadelphia.

That could be very scary if it's lymph node related. Let's hope he's ok.

The team needs to regroup, rest and get ready for Phil and then onto Anaheim. Hopefully we'll make up some ground in the wild card before the break.

That makes sense if it is an injury of some sort.

Yep, scoring 2 runs a game the last 2 games needs to improve.
That's what's always concerning when this team scores a buttload of runs one game, they tend to
Come out flat the next game or 2.

Should be a good series to fix any ailments we may have gotten from the Astros.

Gamel is back in the #2 slot with a RHP from Philly. Valencia at #7.

I like this line up, though I'd rather switch Valencia and Dyson.

Playing the worst team in the NL and we come out flat. Tomorrow isn't a must win because playoffs aren't determined in June, but if we want to be taken seriously as a playoff contender we can't get swept at home by the Phillies. At least Paxton looked like his old self tonight.

Clearly this team has mental blocks. So great at times, so incredibly bad at other times.

It's like a team tradition. They did it to Felix for years and years. Send out a decent starting pitcher and the bats all go to sleep. Pax made a couple of mistakes early and paid for it, yes, but still had a quality start. Our "best lineup in the league" bats went to sleep. Damn it can be painful watching them.

Thats baseball man. Your not gonna score 7 a game. Even last years cubs team went through a 5-15 stretch. But I will agree with you a missed opportunity and a game to point at when we miss out on the wild card by 1 or 2 games...

Now this team does have a history of laying eggs after a day off.... partying too hard? Just losing the momentum? whatever it is, it sucks.

news.

1 step toward and 2 steps back, he'll be lucky to play in 2018. So at best we go Paxton, Felix, Miranda, Kuma and 1 on the minor league kids.
