4 out of 5 starters from last year have a chance to start again this year. All but the three worst linemen from last year are back, just more added to the competition. How is this not continuity?

Consistently switching O-linemen's positions. They are always in a state of flux. Also said if the team can get 4-5 starting at the beginning of the year and can hold those positions then there can be some continuity but even with that, it probably would not be the same O-Line the next season.

Please tell me these are Hsu's notes and not Cable's working depth chart. Surely Paul Allen could chip in for at least a legal pad or 2!

Anyway, they must really be high on Odhiambo this year if he's getting that close of a look for LG. I hope his 11lb or so bulk-up will benefit him. Fant does appear to be of superior strength to everyone so hopefully he retains his quickness and agility. Very interesting Roos could potentially be a #2 guard. As I figured, they're probably going to ease Pocic in and likely not start him until later. Of course, they'll try multiple configurations throughout camp until they find the right fit for everyone.

Hmmm....
Get a decent Oline and pay them what they're worth and ANY NFL RB can be a 1000 yd rusher. It worked for the Broncos when Shanahan was coaching, they plugged a different RB in there every year or two and were very successful. More recently, it has worked for the Cowboys. The problem would be paying the defense.

Couple, of things about that.

Davis got hurt before he got paid

Elway was in his last years with a low cap number

Two of the 5 got piad big money as the team was falling apart.

Winning teams do what the Seahawks do along the Oline. Just their 3-7th rounders play effectively, the Seahawks have the right plan they just have the wrong coach for the plan.

Yes, just like the Cowboys and they have won 2 wildcard games since the end of the run in the 90's. I think our line will be better this year and our philosophy will continue to have us in the mix.

I'm glad the seahawks draft linemen who can play multiple positions because that depth chart was kind of a mess. What kind of battle is Odeambo vs Roos? Sounds like you lose either way if that was really the only 2 options for left guard.

Well I feel so much better knowing we signed "the best guard in all of football" during the off season.

In Cable we trust.....one.....more.... season.

"This guy played left guard last year, and I don’t know if there was a better guy playing left guard in football last year. But people don’t talk about that because in October he tore his ACL. And now he’s a free agent. Jacksonville must be done with him. They don’t want to pick up the option and blah, blah, blah. It’s like, ‘I’ll take him.’

Huh... that's not quite they way I read it. It seemed that Cable thinks he was the best kind of "guy" playing guard, not the best guard by performance.

I really don't understand the Fant detractors. He may end up being a bust but I saw a lot to like for as inexperienced as he is.

I believe he will be our left tackle for the next 10 years barring injury.

Are you referring to Wilson's injury, One of the running backs injury, or Fant himself being injured? I believe the first two are forgone conclusions at this point.

I think the problem is that if he's good enough to be a ten year tackle in this league, under Pete and John's system, we could never afford to keep him.

No one is detracting from Fant's physical gifts and athleticism............but many of us don't think he's quite fully developed, as evident by his wildly inconsistent play last year.

Can he be our LT for the next 10 year? Yes. Is he ready NOW? No, haven't seen evidence of that yet. Thus, detractors.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. Luke joeckel played all of four games last season. He may have performed better at Guard than tackle in that short time before his injury however it seems Cable will give him a look back protecting the QB's blind side first.

Yes, it was sarcasm. So is "I love the thought of switching him back to his failed position".

So is "hopefully they get Boykin on work release from jail to start the first 4 games" to preserve our real QB.

Look up the stats. He allowed numerous sacks and pressures all year. He was awful.

His potential is All-Pro. His net performance is Sean Locklear.

I don't need to look up the stats, I could see him struggling. I am simply stating that with his limited experience, his size and flashes of technique scream future all-pro. The Seahawks threw him into the fire and he got burnt. I think he was trying to use his brain more than his body. When he learns how to use both watch out.

He won't be here ten years if he is a success, 3 maybe. If ranked high and a contract year we won't re sign.

This is what I've been saying. Even when this system works it fails. Our QB is constantly being pulverized because he always and forever has to rely on new and inexperienced players playing unfamiliar positions to protect him and help him run the offense. The Bevils inflexibility only makes it worse.

If hes a great player he will be resigned. what makes you think otherwise? You cant use any of our past O-line players we have lost in free agency because none of them are great players. So what makes you think that?

The team not only has shown, but flat out has come and said they plan to use the young olinemen to help with cap issues. They traded the best olineman we had (Unger) didn't they? That proved to be a disaster IMO (not because of Graham), but the team has clearly shown a disregard to keeping experienced (ie more expensive) olinemen here.

Read Cables latest comments on the subject....

http://www.espn.com/blog/seattle-se...was-as-good-as-any-guard-in-the-nfl-last-year

"The way the free agent market is nowadays, if you want to pay all those linemen, then you won’t have the quarterback, you won’t have the receiver, you won’t have our tight end," Cable said. "You wouldn’t have our linebackers. You wouldn’t have our corners. You wouldn’t have our D-linemen.

"And so, I’ve always said, and I’ve said this publicly before, when you build a team, pay those guys who hit the quarterback and cover people and score touchdowns. And we’ll manage the rest. And it’s worked. We all have a championship ring because of it."

Ohhh....BTW Tom. You won that championship with the highest paid Oline in the NFL in 2013, so you are full of crap!!
