Jefferson's Sparq profile is pretty middle of the pack, but his 10 yard split (1.69) and SS (4.37) are near the top of this class, and those show on tape with an explosive first step and good agility.

Since we'll have at least one fourth-round comp next year, I'm cool with giving up a future fourth. I think that you can get away with trading future mid-round picks if you're a team that has collected a number of comp picks to make up for it.

You just know JS will probably trade back in Round 1 or 2 next year too. Giving up a future 4th isn't a big deal ultimately.. especially if Jefferson amounts to anything.

Rounds 5-7 are pretty much a crap shoot anyway. Sometimes you get really lucky and land a Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, etc. Other times you walk away with guys that don't even make the final 53 or PS.

He just started his conference call with, "Let me tell you what 'Like a Virgin' is about..."

Weird.

That is odd, but he's married with 3 kids and was a team leader in Maryland, so it could just be jitters.

Wow, he has a nice swim move and plays violent, I like him already. Looks like a poor man's Bennett which is fine in my book.

I was thinking he exact same thing.

Or it could be his favorite Madonna song? At least it isn't Vogue.

WIth Jack Allen,C and Shawn Oakman, DE still available, I thought they were trading up to grab one of them. I think Jefferson could have been there at their comp pick.
Well they didn't which is why they traded up so...

Kind of came out of nowhere but he seems to be extremely athletic and capable for his size. Might turn out to be a surprisingly good pick.

Yeah, I like the way he sheds blocks and keeps pursuing even though a few of those plays looked dead but weren't. I like how he keeps his head up and is watching where the ball is when he is still engaged with the blocker.
Looks like a Pete and John guy.

Is it just me, or are we picking some huge, angry young men with reasons in this draft?

Reasons to be nasty.

He wasn't on my radar at all. After watching his highlight and seeing he has a great 10-yard split, I like the pick.

Here is an interview of him at his Pro Day.

I would have rather gone OL instead of another DL guy. Dahl from Wash St. would have been a good value pick. Jefferson is more of a pass rusher, so he might be brought in as a pass rush specialist.

Don't like this pick, seeing it apparently required a 2017 4th to the AFC evil empire. Wasn't projected by anyone this high, more like 7th.. so let him come to you.

His 10 yard split is the 144th best among DT's, and his short shuttle was the 4th best. He's an explosive and agile young man.

Just saw his highlights. I take what I said earlier back. Looks like a good player. Sort of like TY McGill was last year in preseason. He's a Seahawk now and hope he has success as it would make the Seahawks that much better.

Glad to see pass rush getting addressed. This guy will compete with Jordan Hill for snaps on passing downs.

To a certain extent projections are irrelevant. Let's say the Seahawks have him graded on their board as a 3rd round pick. Trading a future 4th for a present 3rd round value player is no big deal.
