If the team loses on Sunday at home they will have a losing home record for the season.

All in all while we knew this season would be tough sledding this is disappointing and a once bastion of strength for the team seems to be much less than a bittersweet symphony. Perhaps this has happened before in Pete’s tenure but their defensive woes are turning home games in to disappointing contests.

Now we seem to waiting for the disasters to happen rather than expecting the W.

They have not done a good job of winning at home this season for whatever reason. The teams they have dropped home games to - the Falcons, the Panthers, and the Raiders are all sub .500 teams to boot. Very disappointing indeed. In years past they always did a good job of winning most of their home games.

It's been such a fun season, regardless of W-L record. Pete is separating the wheat from the chaff by forcing these new schemes. If they can't figure it out, well...it's been great, but not that great.

It's been a while since the team had a rookie defensive coordinator.

It's been suggested that there may be too many cooks scheming and stirring the pot.

I don't recall the team previously leading the league in rookie snaps.

Several of those rookies may now be hitting that rookie wall.

This year doesn't feature an elite talent on the field full time for the defense.

There are no dynamic duos this year. No Chancellor and Thomas. No Wagner and KJ. No super abundance of linemen like Red Bryant, Tony McDaniel, Brandon Mebane, Chris Clemons, Cliff Avril or Michael Bennett.

But, this year we do see a lot of competitors getting the necessary snaps they need to grow and develop. I chose to look past the outcomes so as to enjoy the process.

The process of seeing the players "get it" is what life is all about. Teachers see this a lot and it is gratifying.
