Aikmen: Seahawks "worst offensive game ever"

It's not even the worst offensive performance Aikman has been present at by the Seahawks.

October 11, 1992: Cowboys beat the Seahawks 27-0. The Seahawks offense, with both Gelbaugh and McGwire playing, got 62 total yards in that game; 38 rushing and 24 passing. Maybe Aikman is trying to forget, since his team won despite him throwing two interceptions to his zero touchdowns (his stat line looks a lot like Prescott's for this game). It was a disaster.

And it certainly doesn't compare to that 1979 debacle where they got -7 yards, the NFL record for least yards. Our team still owns that record, and probably will.

not sure about the worst offensive game ever. It was the worst game by a team that was victorious for a long while. That said, there are a lot of teams that are worse offensively throughout the year, but they lose.

It really was garbage how much of a homer Aikman was during the broadcast though. Throughout calling the Seahawks out, and rightfully so, he failed to call out the Cowboys who played worse and lost.

It was hyperbole but it was certainly a terrible offensive performance.

I normally don't mind Aikman but man his homerism was bleeding through the broadcast booth all game.

We almost had more penalty yards than yards.

How do you reconcile that?
Winning IN SPITE OF THE PENALTIES.
Cowboys had a buttload of Penalties as well, so there's that to factor in.

He kind of has a point.

Yeah....On top his head.
IF he truly believes that, then how does he explain the Seahawks crappy Offense beating his beloved Cowboys......For as "CRAPPY" as they played, the Cowboys Offense sucked even WORSE.

He said IF we won that it would be the worst offensive performance by a team that won. That's pretty fair . We lose that game going away without those turnovers and missed kicks .

I get it. You have a bias and the Seahawks aren't very good this year. But really Troy? Worst ever? Didn't know 14 offensive points by a QB with a 107 PR would be the "worst ever" to you. Didn't your Cowgirls only manage 12 points?

Troy's tears taste so good.

Come on dude. He said that in the 4th quarter when we had exactly 59 yards of total offence just before we drove down 79 yards to score the 3rd touchdown. It was an accurate statement, with no bias, at that moment in time.

Umm...no not really

A terrible offense is the Browns, or even the way the Browns played today. Aikman was biased

Granted, our offense was mostly terrible today. On the flip side, you can also say the defense played great. If Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers struggles to move the ball, the announcers almost, ALWAYS praise the defense first. Even if Rodgers and Brady are playing like garbage

So yes, this was the same ol anemic offense. But, the worst? That is definitely bias by Aikman. We capitalized on opportunities, didn't get many possessions because the Cowboys were efficient running the football, and we were VERY conservative. This was also an example of just winning a football game and making the plays necessary

Of course, but if you have watched any football, turnovers and missed kicks are part of that sport.

That's like saying, "we would have won if they wouldn't have gotten more of those touchdown things"

It's all about points at the end of the day. Seahawks had 14. Not even close to being the worst offensive performance by the winning team. I understand the bias. I really do. Troy likes the cowboys obviously. Im just saying his tears taste good.

naw its RWs fault just read the forum, if Davis was our QB the run game would be the best ever. Any real QB wuld get more than 89% of our offebsive yards and 100% of our offensive tds, ANy decent Qb would not get sacked at all, and do better than the 66% completion. all RWs fault

LOL, all these youngster Hawk fans having chapped ass over what an announcer says. Your pissed off, so what? Aikmen was right. RW and the Hawks offense sucks, and has for a couple of seasons. The Hawks won in spight of RW's shitty game and the offense craptastic performance.

If you think for one minute Bevell or RW are going to take this team to the SB you need to put the crack pipe down. This game should have proven to you that the Hawks aint winning shit if it comes down to the offense. The RW nut huggers can sit back and make excuses left and right, but dam, how about hitting a guy in stride, on a shot gun snap every once in a while? Why take 7 steps back AFTER a shotgun snap every time? Then give the stupid look at the O line like they didnt do their job when they pushed the sped rusher 12 yards past the pocket...

RW and Bevell and frigging broken. Bevell and Tom Cable need to be sent packing next year, and if RW cant get his frigging head back in the game, goodbye to you as well.

He wasn't exactly wrong.

Ifedi had another awful game. Three pressures allowed in just the highlights, plus whiffing trying to block for Davis.

Wilson running himself into 22-yard sacks ON THREE-MAN RUSHES.

Duane Brown is turning into George Fant.

Tyler Lockett just isn't doing anything anymore.

And the offensive philosophy just continuing to eschew crossers, slants, screens, and ANYTHING that might keep Wilson clean from pressure. Nope, four-verts all day.

I was trying to see if it sounds as stupid when I say it as the people who say it on this board and it does. The player who makes up a NFL record 86% of this teams total offensive yards and over 95% of this teams offensive tds as well as this tesm leading russher is not a player you get rid of, he is a player you build around, and that includes the offensive scheme which means we nedd a new OC

That's why it's a 3-phase sport -- offense, defense, and special teams. A win's a win, I don't care how we get it.

Meh, at some point you kinda have to accept that some people will just not like the guy. For whatever personal bias or reason they have. I no longer get upset at it. If you give Russell the credit he's due you're passive aggressively called a stan or as one recent poster put it^^^, a nut hugger. Lol

Russell has the most total Tds in the league right now. Basically, what his critics are saying is he's average and needs to be firing on all cylinders to be considered great. When few offenses are firing on all cylinders right now without at least a running game

Anyway, back to the topic, Aikman is a biased tool and that was unprofessional as a broadcaster. At one point, he was practically hoping for the Cowboys to get a turnover
