Assume it's a vet minimum deal. Hard to get too excited about it. Curious to see if they re-up Moeaki.

If you combine McCoy and Moeaki do they form one healthy TE or one completely broken one?

Touche! Moeaki to me has some upside but no question he is injury prone.

Honestly, I'd like to see Moeaki back too. He seemed to have some good chemistry with Russ last year.

If Thomas indeed is going to Jacksonville then we could do worse than going after Marcedes Lewis on the cheap should he become available (might make sense given they'd save nearly $7m by cutting him). Missed half the season last year but it was only an untimely high ankle sprain. Missed eight games in eight seasons prior to that.

Not excited about McCoy at all. I swear he has the body control of a newborn giraffe and if I remember correctly is not much of a blocker.

And a ton of penalties.

Lewis is solid tight end who's really underrated because of the crap load of bad QBs he played with in Jacksonville. He's not a burner by any means, but he's a big time red zone threat. He's got injury concerns, but I could get behind this signing at the right price.

Lewis won't likely get cut by Jax - they have tons of cap space and a 2 TE set would help their young QB.

Meh, McCoy is the slowest TE I've ever seen. Now McCoy IS a dude you can say lives off of blown-coverages.

Good signing though. I'm still pissed about Zach. What a blow that ankle is.

McCoy would finish the 40 a full 4 seconds ahead of Zach Miller.
LOL, Are you saying that they could check Miller's 40 times with a sundial, or Hourglass, instead of a stopwatch?

According to Prisco, Lewis is gone, but tweet from Schefter might've been fake.

EDIT: Looks like it was indeed a fake Schefter account.

Let's try this again!

If he can stay healthy, he's great. But this will be attempt #3 at seeing if he can stay healthy.

Great is stretching it...by a long ways.

He was developing into one of Russel's favorite redzone targets in 2012.

I guess our definitions of great differ.

I mean great at his role, not great as in Hall of Famer.

It would be a dangerous combo, but he's not worth the $8m cap hit as a #2 TE when they could use that money to make a play for Demarco Murray. An elite running game would help out Bortles more id think.

Every one is talking Thomas , but I think Charles Clay is the guy.

Just a stopgap move in case our FA period and draft totally flop from a TE perspective. We've yet to see this guy remain healthy for more than a few games, and he's definitely lower-tier material. Big, slow, but OK as a RZ target IF it's an easy catch. His tendons are made of twine and his muscles of beef jerky....have I missed anything.

For some reason, I thought Clay had a low RFA tag, not a transition tag. My bad. I'd still rather have him than Thomas or Cameron, however.

Me too. Clay's versatility SCREAMS Seahawks. IMO, he's worth more here than other places.

Clay was a guy I had hoped would draw some interest from the Seahawks. Would be a great fit here, Ugh.
