In Cable we trust right? Not that worried about it, money we couldn't spend. He's a marginal talent.

Hopefully Bailey is the guy at RT, Bowie was horrible there last year.

Disagree. Bowie started horribly, got better every start, and by the time Breno returned I thought he was playing better than Breno.

Dang, not re-sign in any of our own guys is really starting to piss me off.

I'm not going to lie, Blitzer... You're handling this a lot better than I expected.

Trust I am a wreck inside. I think today has been a major step back for us.

OK

NOW IT HURTS...Like I just had my genitals dragged across gravel...

Is there a plan...?

Here's a plan . . . stop dragging your genitals across the gravel.

That's weird. Just stop it.

I may have been exaggerating a bit, but your advice is worth considering. Thank you. I'll stick to cement from now on.

Who have we lost that is irreplaceable?

Like someone else said in another thread,

Understand, it's all part of the process with good teams. You re-sign the elite talent, let the marginal/good talent walk away when they're expensive/replaceable and syphon the talent&youth right back in for those replaceable/decent players through the draft, etc.

Elite players = hard to replace = resign.

Decent/Good players = not as hard to replace = let them test FA, and if they get more than what we're willing to pay, let them go and we replace them. All part of the business.

Really guys (those that are hand-wringing at the moment)...why are you worrying so much? Losing faith in our system so quickly? Just wait....you'll be singing praises soon enough.

Losing Breno is disappointing. I'll be looking for the contract details.

I anticipated a bit of a retool of the offense in 2014. So ....... not surprised.

No one yet. The offseason is unfolding basically how I imagined it. Saving cap space to roll over into big extensions next year.

This is one I am actually thankful for. I know the jury is out on Bailey and Bowie, but I thought both showed more than enough to gamble on their upside in 2014.

I feel the same, Breno did his job but, nothing really better than average. The one good positive I recognized was his ability to get under the skin of the opponents! What it was, I'm not sure but, he caused many more flags against opposing defenses than was called on himself! I liked his contribution !

Bowie was coming around, he can be as good as Breno, perhaps better. I like Breno as a personality, but we shouldn't pay him more than he's worth.

Everyone needs to remember that aside from a few big players, this team is going to turnover more like a college team than a pro team. 3-4 years of solid prime time production, and then the freshmen take over. Rinse, repeat.

You aren't going to see a lot of 29 year olds getting contracts here.

I feel about this about the same as I do about Tate. Thanks for the hard work and attitude and helping us win the big one. Best of luck going forward.

Next!

It's been a step back, but it's super early. Rarely is losing a good player a step forward in the immediate sense. What's important is what follows.

I have every reason to believe that plenty of steps forward will follow, be they free agency, trade, draft, or just the fact that we have the cap flexibility to keep Sherman, Thomas, Wilson, Okung, and Baldwin, which is not something I would have thought prior to Bryant, Clemons, Tate, and Giacomini's departure.
