Brady needs to really think about his immediate future. He's not in this for the money and winning another title...uh, unlikely (even though they will be in that hunt). Next year will be Brady's 15th (IIRC).

Further, things have went the Patriots way for a long time. But you make some enemies with such a run. IF the rest of the NFL was smart, they would never again work any deals or trades with Bill. It's a losing proposition. That leaves the Pats with FA, where they don't like throwing money around, and the draft, which typically takes a bit of time for players to develop. On average, the Pats are relatively young, but proven / key players like Wilfolk are not.

My opinion could also be influenced by seeing a bit too much of Tom Brady. : /

Trading with the Patriots is one of those things that most GMs know is wrong, but they just can't help themselves, they do it anyway.

Imho, blicheck is horrible with the draft and in trades. He lets his ego get in the way. The only reason pats have a winning record is because of Brady and a bad division.
