Wow. Seriously, congratulations to the Sweezy clan. Late round pick, converting from D-line to O-line, and now on to get some serious dough on his second contract, impressive.

Though, I won't miss his late unnecessary roughness penalties.

Hawks weren't going to match that. What will Okung demand?

Apparently they got that wrong. Blame Pehawk, it's his boyfriend I think.

Ain't that the truth. It is weird how so many fans hate on offensive linemen.

Its be cause the Seahawks havent drafted a Hutch or Jones in years and those are the only players 'worth' keeping.

I was fine with Carp and Breno, truly. I am not fine with Sweezy and Britt. But to some there is no difference between Carp and Sweezy, they both failed to meet lofty goals of being worth keeping.

It's because they only focus on failures in Pass protection and ignore success in Run blocking.

Exactly right.

Ironically Cable's biggest detractors will use DVOA to defend Bevell but disregard it for Cable.

Seahawks twitter is best defined using the above statement.

The group comprised of Okung, Carpenter, Unger, Sweezy and Breno was a solid one. I've never felt otherwise. And you had guys who could compensate for ONE young and inexperienced teammate.

But that is not the group that played last year, which is when the torches really started getting lit.

To be fair, with Sweezy the lapses in pass protection were comical at times. The only thing that kept them from being truly awful was Britt doing a worse job on the same play sometimes.

Yeah, the idea was "it can get better" before 2015 to "how could it get any worse" mid 2015.

It's Glowinski time. I'm okay with this. I wonder how Cable feels. s

I'm very relieved that Tom Cable's love for Sweezy didn't lead to them making a huge over pay. I would be cool with him coming back if he didn't have much interest in the market, but that was obviously not the case.

Glowinski is an upgrade.

This really sucks. Sweezy is one of the toughest SOBs in the league. The few technique errors he made a game were greatly outweighed by the many positives he brought to his game. The offense became a bit softer today.

Maybe for the salary he was making, you could feebly argue this was the case.

I get the feeling Cable is chomping at seeing Glow and SokolI up and running ASAP.

Look at it this way, if Cable wasn't able to persuade them to keep him then we are really looking to blow things up with the O Line. Look to have a hand full of F.A. guys second tier brought in to compete at bargain prices, second tier does not mean worse then what we had or have. Typically we seem to start our selective signings on Friday or Saturday after the first wave has settled out.

He was just too inconsistent to pay him big time money. How much did he end up getting?

Well next man up...Glowinski gets his shot to start and albeit a small sample size looks to be more than serviceable. I assume the teams plan right now is to try to sign Okung and spend a few picks on that interior next month...bring in some youth and compete.
