Deal also changed from 6 year $63 mil. It's now reportedly set to be a 5 year deal around $53 to 54 million. Byron Maxwell / Eagles

Is there a report that says he didn't?

Mike Florio article stated it.

It sounds like he's using "absence of evidence" as his reasoning more than anything solid.
Thats what Floria does. He tries to make connections that aren't there and just throws crap against the wall and hopes something sticks.

If he did say it was a red flag that Quinn didn't go after Maxwell, what does it mean that the Hawks apparently did try to re-sign him? So it's a red flag if his old DC doesn't attempt to sign (Quinn doesn't have personnel say I don't believe) but let's not mention the fact that Seattle tried to retain Maxwell. Florio is a wanna be and basically nothing more than a tabloid.

Could be, but that in itself is an opinion at this point.

This article says different.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... n-maxwell/

if Maxwell was another Richard Sherman, the former Seahawks defensive coordinator turned first-year Falcons coach would have been at or near the front of the line.

That's the author's inference and reasoning ..... not Dan Quinn.

Byron Maxwell is a terrific addition for the Eagles. Bryon can play both outside positions and can play inside as well. Terrific flexibility to build a defensive back field around. Great signing by the Eagles. :th2thumbs:

Okay, but I thought it he might be more credible then posting it from a fake twitter account. That seems to be all the rage these days...lol

Trust me, Byron, the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.

Cash was certainly more greener on that side

Gross overpayment. Maxwell is good but far from elite. He benefited hugely from the Hawks defensive scheme and the mobility of our secondary. I don't believe he is the best cb in free agency, I also think the Hawks will be able to target a replacement through the draft. Although simon looked off last year he may even be the answer. Maxwell was not very special his first years either and simon has the tools just needs the experience and grit. I'll take a 3 round pick for maxwell any day. I'd like to see Thurmond back. Simon lane Thurmond. I'll take that !

Isn't this tampering?

Technically, yes. But nothing is going to happen. The Eagles can just deny they gave any formal offers and that Maxwell just decided to go there based on their hypothetical contract parameters.
