The idea that because he is not good at high pointing he is a terrible receiver is laughable. Most intelligent fans outside of Seattle considers him a good receiver, his peers consider him a good receiver.
He is overly aggressive as a blocker and has inconsistent hands. He isn't great at high-pointing, but there is much he is exceptional at. And he makes up for it by being fantastic once he gets the ball.
You don't look at what people can't do and wish they could do better. You find ways of using what they can do.
Of all the problems with this team, Metcalf isn't one of them. Not even close.
He might be one of the few reasons left to watch this team.
