earl got to the first down marker before the qb did and he was twice as far out, it wasn't even close.

I remember the Miami game last year where ET got a roughness penalty on the QB when the ball left the QBs hand. Thats the risk we run sometimes.

What's the point of this?

Best safety in the league this year and it isn't close.

Totally agreed.

Also, dare I say. The best first round pick of the Seahawks since Walter Jones in '98.

that gif is amazing

It actually looks like that effect you see a lot in modern action films where the main character is moving in real time but everyone else in slow motion

Anyone else having this problem? It shows up for me but it might be in my cache. I just found that hosting site yesterday and tried it for the the first time. There is a 3 GB limit for each gif each month so that may have been reached. I would be happy to repost it.

Wasnt Gruden mentioning him as his choice for the defensive MVP in the league so far?

I'm pretty sure seahawks08 didn't actually watch that game.

Doug Farrar is on Earl's nuts (in a good way) this morning in regards to his speed, too. People are really noticing.

I've seen Reed, Polamalu, and Bob Sanders, and his closing speed is at least that impressive. At least.

Comment from someone to Doug:
Taylor Edwards ‏@UpperLeftView 58s
@SI_DougFarrar His closing speed...........its just insane. He sees something and immediately reacts. He's popping people this year as well.

@UpperLeftView Precisely. Without him, the top comes off, and his teammates fully realize. Few have more respect in that locker room.

Good stuff.

It was an 18 MB gif...

Here's one I made, only about 5 MB.

Not sure why anyone would single out the third down stop to highlight Earl Thomas.

Heath Farwell made a fantastic move on that play, Thomas comes in late and kind of falls on the pile. Doesn't have much impact at all really.

There were so many better examples of his range in the Rams game.

Can we use him as KR?

I actually really like Tate back there, he's due for one.
Not really. He had one recently. It was called back because our offense and special teams get hard off of shooting ourselves in the foot. :)

Richardson got stopped initially by Farwell but spun off and could have gotten in backwards if not for Thomas pulling him down. I think as far as impact, it was 75 Farwell, 25 Thomas.
