Hmm I wonder what made the Patriots think he was not physically able to perform :)

Interteresting move by the Seahawks to waive Darboh without an injury designation. Waiving a player with an injury designation typically reduces the likelihood that another team will claim him. If he went unclaimed (Darboh fell to 31/32 teams on the waiver wire without an injury designation), then he would have automatically reverted to the Seahawks IR and would have been eligible to return after eight weeks. The downsides to the injury designation approach are that he would not have been eligible to play for eight weeks (who knows how long he will be out after surgery?) and they would have been forced to use one of their IR exceptions to activate him. They must have preferred the idea of signing him to the practice squad for those reasons.

I'm curious about the guaranteed salary part of his contract. Since the Patriots claimed him off waivers doesn't that mean they are on the hook for paying whatever guarantees were still owed to Darboh, even though they in turn waived him several days later? If so, that is a win for the Hawks!

So, tell me somethin....Someone mentioned upthread that they may be negotiating pay on some players for the practice squad. Is there different pay scales for players on the practice squad? I figured it would be something controlled by the CBA. And no, I am not gonna go thru the CBA to find it. I am too dang busy getting my winterization stuff prepared so I have water this winter. Tore down a well house underground, dug out the dirt that destroyed the base framework, and am in the process of rebuilding it. I thought it would take a week and a half....I am into the 4th week with gathering wood in the middle of the weekends too. And slave labor for the neighbor as well. Ya...life is facebook fantastic.

There’s a minimum salary of $7,600 per week for the practice squad but no maximum salary. Salaries aren’t guaranteed. Players can sign elsewhere at any time. Players on the practice squad also don’t receive credit for accrued years toward vested veteran status.

Just adding to the answer ....

Already the team has made a change from the ‘initial PS’ with the addition of Branden Jackson back to the team on the PS.

It is interesting to observe as noted above by Jville and as I have noted elsewhere here JS isn’t at all adverse to churning the PS which is done for competitive reasons and to check out players of interest to the team as any potential to incrementally improve the team practicing or the team generally. The effect of course is to increase the effective number of PS players from ten to a greater number depending on how many changes are made weekly.

He had signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad, and they gave him the designation of “left team.”

That is a bummer on Stringfellow.

He did some stupid things earlier and, as a Husky, I should hold it against him.
But damn if he could catch the football and run with it.

He would have helped this offense. Disappointing to see he won't be an option for us in the future.

Based on his history he may have a bit of the head case syndrome that needs to be diagnosed, very high, very emotional and probably vulnerable to depression as well, he goes all over and now faced with more challenges may not be able to handle it.

Yes I could be wrong but I hope we don't see him on Florios former NFL WR arrested for.....
