Love it. People can call him old all they want because he is. But he can still bring it, especially in pass pro. He'll be a phenomenal third down back and a great spell for Lynch.

I understand that Fred Jackson and Lynch are very tight. Could this be a move to appease the beast into playing a few more seasons?

Yes, but the value he brings to the team apart from Beast plays a big part as well. Win win.

The last 3 years jackson's average has been meh

2012: 3.8
2013: 4.2
2014: 3.7

I'm not seeing how this is going to help...

Buffalo might as well have had RJ Archer starting for them the past three years.

Very short sided way of looking at this, bruh.

Also, look at Marshes YPC numbers in Buffalo. Maybe Fred wasn't the problem.

Having to account for RW keeping the ball on any given play is a huge benefit for any running back playing for the Seahawks.

Jackson is an underrated pick up just like Kevin Williams was for our defense last year. There are a lot of parallels and I think it is a great addition I look forwarding to seeing in action.
Totally agree. Kevin Williams is exactly who came to mind when I saw we signed him. I like this pickup a lot.

Apparently he already knows the full offense and is ready to go.

Either Jackson is amazing or Bevell is terrible. Guessing its somewhere in between.

I am betting he had Lynch's Playbook from the time he got here to look at the first time and been watching film etc, maybe even staying with him till he officially signed. This was orchestrated from the time the Bills cut him. The Pats wanted him also, guess the Taint was too much for Jackson.

I never get tired of these tweets. I guarantee Pete tells every single one of them "don't forget to send your 12's tweet."

I don't know which of his kids is Jaeden but they're my new favorite.

Sure, but he also had 66 receptions last year for 501 yards. That's as many receptions as Doug Baldwin (our leading receiver) had (albeit, for less yards, obviously).

He's exactly what we need as a 3rd down back, smart pass blocker, good hands and the ability to rush for around 4 YPC.
Isn't that what Lynch is?

It's a wonder Turbin or Michael ever got on the field when we have a guy like Lynch! You can't have him take every snap, it's just not possible, particularly with his physical running style. He's now a guy with over 2000 carries entering his 9th year in the league. You need a guy to spell him.
I understand what you are saying but I wouldn't do it on third down. I'd mix him in throughout the game but putting him in on third down just Telegraphs pass IMO. Plus Lynch being on the field on third down will open up things in the passing game by keeping the defense honest.
That has no bearing on obvious passing situations, like the 3rd and longs Bevell's astute play calling constantly put us in. Jackson will be used heavily on 3rd down if that stays the same.

Fred better be all world as a pass blocker, because when he and Graham see the field at the same time, defenses will be nickel and dime and blitz Russ.

I bet we'll see an uptick in screens this year.
Hope not of the bubble variety. Don't like those.
Yeah, those kind of suck..... So we will probably see 5 or 6 in week 1. 8)

Looked at the playbook, smiled and said 'yo, I'm back in college!'
