Hey to everyone upset he wont be on the field week 1, think of it like an extended pre-season. Irvin isn't known for his intelligence, so 4 more weeks in the film room and working with position coaches can't do anything but help his awareness level.

Me thinks you're blurring the line between knowledge and intelligence ;)

You don't really do your own intelligence much service with this post, McG. Irvin isn't allowed any coaching, team supervision, hell he isn't even allowed at the VMAC while suspended. It's a 4 week unpaid vacation. Any prep he does will have to be on his own.

I hope he is clean but don't bash miller in the same thread. When were upset about Bruce being suspended for the same thing.

This makes no sense.

He was referring to a statemant made earlier about Von Miller being good because of the PEDs he was taking. Brucie got suspended for PED use so it was unnecessary for the other user to call out Miller for PED use when we have a suspended player as well.

Yup. For someone like Bruce who needs that positive encouragement and coaching, this suspension is not a good thing.

Too bad Bruce looked like all he can do is be a situational pass rusher... He definitely showed he can't be an every down player last night!

He proved last year he can't handle a big OL coming at him with a RB at full up speed right behind him. This is why Carroll made the switch.

It's NOT why Carroll made the switch. Bruce was drafted to be OLB/Spinner/rush specialist.

I agree totally. Let the kid get used to NFL speed and understand the defense before you throw him in at LB where you have more assignments than contain outside and run like heck at the QB. Now he will do that stuff, and a bit more. Build it. Pete understands building linebackers and so does Norton. They saw one and drafted one, and 'redshirted' him last year for the long term benefit of the player and the team. Smart move. I would enjoy seeing Bruce sitting up in the box for a couple of the games with a headset on and getting a feel from above where he's supposed to move. Pete having job security let him do this. Both the draft pick and grooming for LB. Brilliant job all around if it works as expected, and thank you Paul Allen for giving your coach some slack to build something.

It's my understanding that Irvin cannot have anything to do with the Seahawks while he is serving his suspension.

+1 letting this guy play in spaces will be a help I believe. He can see gaps and shoot them...he did it last game for a loss and was only in a few plays. He played safety the past and said he feels comfortable in pass coverage. Sounds good to me
