Checking in 3 hours latter .......Eric Mandel, Digital Content Producer for 710 AM ESPN Seattle, lists 9 practice team signings .....

• ESPN’s NFL transaction wire reports the Seahawks signed the following to the practice squad: OL Robert Myers, TE Marcus Lucas and LB Jordan Tripp.

• ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia reports the Seahawks officially added six players to their practice squad: DL Tylor Harris, WR Kenny Lawler, LB Kache Palacio, OL Will Pericak, WR Rodney Smith and WR Kasen Williams. Five of those six players were with the team this summer.

That leaves one practice team spot open .... possibly for recently waved DT Justin Hamilton. We'll see come Monday.

Tom Cable and company seem to bounce around a bit in search of unique traits for their blocking projects. This year their choices have prioritized size and power. They seem to be boldly reaching for elements of a power scheme to blend into their more familiar zone blocking scheme. It's possible we may be in for a treat with a fresh and instructive direction that will benefit the blocking game. Interesting year.

Am not seeing him anywhere at Seahawks.com so far, hope he makes it though. He got the nickname from teammates back in high school because they saw him open his trunk before a practice and it was stuffed with Doritos and other food, hidden so that other people wouldn't find and eat it.

Slightly off topic but I also hope Garrison Smith (DT from the Niners) proves a good surprise.

Smith was one of two preseason defensive standouts for the 49ers, especially during an Aug. 20 game against in Denver when he was forced into the contest early due to injuries along the defensive line. He finished fourth on the team in tackles this summer and was Pro Football Focus’ top-rated interior defensive lineman.
