Now that all of our draft picks are under contract, how many of them do you see making the final cut?
I've heard people touting 4-5 rookies max! all off season, but I honestly think that a lot more will make it.
Chirstine Micheal
Jordan Hill
Chris Harper
Jesse Williams
Tharold Simon
Luke Willson
Are all virtual locks in my mind. Hill and Williams will see lots of snaps in the DL rotation. Harper will push Tate and spell Sidney on the outside. Michael will fill in as a more complete Leon Washington minus the KR/PR duties. I see Simon as the heir apparent to Brandon Browner when he's not resigned next off season, and Luke Willson will step in as the TE2 now that McCoy is on IR.
That puts us at 6 already, now add into the equation
Ryan Seymore
Micheale Bowie
Ty Powell
Jared Smith
Wouldn't surprise me if two of them make it. Now we're at 8
Spencer Ware might surprise, but I think he's a long shot to be much more than a PS guy unless they shock me by letting go of Mike Rob's cap number.
This is before we even factor in the UDFA's, of which I expect some LB depth, 1 or 2 of them is forseeable.
So that puts us around 10 Rookies making the roster in my eyes. I don't think the bottom 1/5 of the roster is so great that it can't be supplanted by youth and low cost.
