Pete Carroll is doing a fantastic job.

Would like a little more diversity in the offense play calling - something similar to what we saw from Norv Turner today.

This is a scrappy team that is usually undermanned yet still finds a way. Love their competitiveness.

Getting to the playoffs with this roster should provide Pete coach of the year consideration.

That one bad throw in the beginning but he made up for it. Wilson was unbelievable today...So many great throws & clutch...He will carry the team when he needs to. Lets win the rest of the games so we dont have to score watch other teams!

We definitely got outplayed on the defensive side but we also got very unlucky that none of those fumbles bounced our way.

Huge, Huge, Huge win.

Sometimes you win when you are out played. IMO, that was the case today.

Disagree. Yes the first 2 series, but after that it was even. Once we decided to throw the ball, their D had no answer.

seahawks got the stop at the end when it counted. a big stop for carolina were after seattle got the 4th down, then settled for a field goal. late in the game, the seahawks got a key stop of their own when forcing that long field goal attempt.

the offense was great today. the run game might not have been great, but they did get positive yardage on most every run play. then, they had a few decent runs mixed in.

in the passing game, russell was fantastic.

We won in the Red Zone. Where it matters.

Wow, just can't make some people happy...
IIRC, every 2nd half Seahawk drive results in a TD, except for the final GW FG...
I'll take the effectiveness, play calling more than passes the eye test.
We ran for some 3rd and shorts, we converted lots of 3rd downs, converted two 4th downs.

Turner did call an awesome game himself, but Schotty matched him play for play, +1.

Just for fun, start a "Fire Schottenheimer!" thread, and see where it goes. Or maybe there's an old one from after game 2. Time to dust it off then.

the panthers rushing stats were amazing -- 27 carries for 220 yards, 8.1 ypc, and newton's passing stats were really good -- 25/30 with 2 TD and 1 Int. 8.5 yards per attempt. 110.6 rating. 'pretty, pretty good'.

the seahawks rushing game never really got going -- 28 carries for 75 yards and a 2.7 average, but in the passing game, wilson had better stats than newton, 10.9 yards per attempt, 339 yards on 22/31. 2 TDs 128.3 rating.

wilson was sacked twice. newton was never sacked.

We ran for 76. Didn't matter though passing game was on fire in the 2nd half.

Pretty sure Wilson noted the threads in the forum and said, “Not elite? Screw them. How’s that for Elite?”

Dude was balling. That was 2015 vintage form. Clutch.

This game is another example of why competition within a team (offense vs. defense, passing vs. rushing, etc) is mostly fan generated nonsense. Carolina sold out to stop the run and left their third string CB in single coverage so we picked on him. Our defense gave up a lot of yards but forced a ton of fumbles and made the stops when it mattered. Great team win that means we don't need to talk about 2019 yet.

Statement Win. Playoffs chances just went WAY up!

Some issues to fix up on the defense though. What McCaffrey did today cannot happen, and we had nothing resembling a pass rush.

What McCaffrey did today is what McCaffrey does to a lot of teams. Kid is the truth and has been since he came in last year. We withstood a great attack by him. There's not many others that have that kind of speedy back who carves everyone up (KC comes to mind).
I'm really surprised how little we saw of Olsen. He normally tears us up. We either schemed him out, at the risk of letting MccAffrey run on us at his leisure (which he did), or Olsen is just not able to push as much anymore. I feel like we focused him too much (and Griffin is having a difficult time staying ahead of receivers.)
