Pete isn’t out of touch the only difference between he and Belichick is he has Josh McDaniels and we have another puppet as an OC. Defensively they’ll be fine we’ve had some injuries on the D line to deal with, the stats are misleading but Rasheem and Taylor are both home grown and productive. Shottenheimer gave Wilson the opportunity to cook and he served up a turd burger mid season to the early playoff exit to this year. We just aren’t executing the plays on offense.

Belichick also for the first time last off season stepped back and let his coaches and scouts take the primary role in the draft.

So even a coach with as much power and control as Belichick had the self awareness to see that he did a poor job at drafting, and it resulted in two home run picks in Jones and Baramore.

Pete does not have that self awareness, and he has too much control. Not a good combo for fixing systemic issues like bad drafts, a decade of a bad O-line, coordinator hires and playcalling.

Yeah I agree that Pete has too much control and needs to just coach. Jody could and should strip him of any power outside of the field which is the way it should be. Look at Mike Holmgren, it wasn't until he relinquished power in the FO when he started winning in Seattle.

Which can work, but IMO it can't work in an offense controlled by a 71 year old stubborn head coach who only wants to play one way.

Careful now Sarge. According to Keasley and the other Russ haters, Pete has nothing to do with the offense. Remember the first game against the Colts when the offense looked great with all the motion and tempo, apparently its Wilson who decided to go away from it and revert back to the same old predictable offense that has plagued the team for years. Yep, Pete had nothing to do with it.

Also according to the Russ haters, a game manager at QB is all the team needs. Lol. Some fans are so delusional.

The funny thing is, and I could be wrong here, but after the draft, Pete was interviewed, and he seemed just as surprised as fans were that they picked Eskridge.

It was as if he stepped back and let John or Waldron make this pick. When asked how they would use him, he basically said they'll have to "figure it out" "see how he fits"

As in - they didn't have a clear plan prior of how they would use him yet.

So either they drafted BPA. Or Pete let someone else make the pick.

I agree ... I think there is a wide misconception that Pete is micro managing this team. of course we don't really know what's happening but there is a lot of evidence that points to the fact he is NOT. I see no real evidence that says he is...
