Actually thought Michael would get more thought in a trade before someone else. At least try to get something before it's nothing and he just is released or plays out his contract and walks.

I think you're right. If he is a Panther, it'd have to be by trade, right?

Norwood's body language made this move a foregone conclusion to my eyes.

When they cut to someone on the sidelines during the Chargers game and you see Norwood in the background on a bike all by himself I knew it was over.

Carolina acquired him via trade, reported by Ravens Insider.

He has some talent. Couldn't beat out the depth here, but he was much better than Chris Harper. This trade, even if conditional, shows there is some value there.

That, and at this point it truly is a desperate situation at WR for the Panthers at this point. They're 25th on the waiver wire, need something, and know they can't wait. As I posted on the NFL Forum awhile ago, Corey Brown as an UDFA from Ohio State was a similar skillset but better player than Richardson last year, and this preseason looks like the football version of Steve Sax in his surreal inability to catch a football. Funchess still has a nagging hamstring and Ted Ginn is the #1 WR at this point. Desperate.

It's not so much a 4th round miss as it is Kevin Smith and Kasen Williams coming out of nowhere.
