What are the chances that some of the other teams make some kind of under-the-table deal with the agent personally?

Doing so voids the contract.

Teams are forbidden from making future concessions/promises by way of the CBA. Handshake/wink deals included.

Good synopsis of the limitations in this link:

the negative paternity is helpful, but nobody can be certain he did or didn't know that, and the woman could have been attempting a shakedown of a soon to be rich would-be first round NFL pick. Some risk remains based on what is publicly known anyway..

But if it is between the Hawks and Cowboys, Collins would have the easier path to start at left tackle here. Tyron Smith is one of the NFL's best, if not the best, and signed thru 2024, while Okung is a soon to be free agent. And LT is where the potential money is. And Tom Cable has to be a draw.

IF the report is true and it really is down to a choice between Seattle and Dallas, a couple thoughts spring to mind:

1. In terms of dollars, neither team has an advantage.
2. If dollars aren't the decisive factor, what is? Geography? Facility? Playing time at tackle? Odds of winning a championship? Exposure? Other perks inside the locker room?

I've no idea what Collins will use to make a decision, but I fear Geography will be a factor, given that he is from the South. Then again, if we can get him up to Seattle this weekend, when the weather will be AWESOME, then maybe we'll have a chance. Hard to say.

Maybe we can get Marshawn to pay him a visit?

I think Dallas blew most of their rookie free agent bonus pool on George Farmer, so Seahawks may be able to outbid Cowboys on that, depending on how much of that pool we've spent.

Dallas has a very solid O-line, just paid Doug Free $15m over 3 years and Smith won't be going anywhere in a while with his contract. Meanwhile, Okung could well be gone next year and Britt's had next to no competition for his spot. If it's an opportunity to play tackle he wants, then we make a lot more sense than Dallas.

Although, who knows? His ex was just murdered for crying out loud. Maybe getting as far away from home as he can would be appealing to him.

ITs abbundantly clear that the deal Jerry Jones made with Satan wasnt good enough. So this year he upped the ante and had Romo sell his soul to help the draft not suck.

Well, crap. Seems like the $1.65 mil fully guaranteed deal for 3 years is a freakin steal for someone who was probably a top 15 pick. Bummed about missing out on this one. Would have fit perfectly in the Seahawks strategy of having a couple players at very low salaries at positions which usually command the highest salaries.

seahawks didn't peruse him probably because of the reaction they got from the fans when they drafted Clark.

there was a mention of no Seahawks interest while the case is unresolved... the guarantee of the money likely spooked a lot of teams because of that status. They're projecting him as right tackle eventually to replace Doug Free.

Interesting....he rejected the chance to play for a Superbowl contender so he could play for the Cowboys. Well we now know where his priorities are.

To be fair, the Cowboys could very easily be contending for a SB this year and into the near future.
With Darren McFadden? Color me skeptical. They'll win the NFCE no doubt, but are total second tier still.

That's unless Chip is actually smarter than it seems and Sam Bradford switched into a cyborg body or similar.

Naw, they overachieved last year, played a weak schedule, a got a few real lucky breaks.... Their defense is still has some serious holes and they lost one of the best RB's in the NFL....... And their best receiver is a ticking time bomb.
