We still have Cooper Helfet. I have some reservations about a 239 pound TE on a run first team, and the guy drops a lot of passes, but when he's on his game he can be a pretty good receiver.

You have to wonder if Seattle might reconsider Finley, who was cleared by his doctor but not by NFL teams. If Finley and his doctor are willing to take the risk, I don't see why Seattle shouldn't be.

I would laugh so hard if Seattle signed Kellen Winslow.

This just sux for McCoy. I hope his education provides for the future of he and family.

Pleasantries aside, I sure hope Richardson continues to excel, and of course, stays healthy. McCoy's situation has me again (or still) wishing we took ASJ. But I'd be wishing that with or without McCoy so...

I had my hopes up, but it appears the man's achilles are made of twine. What can you do? Best of luck to Anthony.

Time for another Terrell Pryor converted to TE thread? :stirthepot:

Just gutted for McCoy! After watching him in games prior to the 2013 season I had high hopes for him. This just places that much more pressure on Willson to step up! Miller is not getting any younger.

And don't forget my first ever "adopt a rookie" (I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that)... RaShaun Allen! Time for #84 to emerge!

As big a blow this is to the Seahawks, I stopped in my tracks last night and thought about how McCoy and his family must feel. Man, what a bummer. One of my sons sustained a season-ending injury last year playing ball and it gave me a new perspective on what injured players go through. I know not on that level, but it changed my perspective as a fan.

We were all looking forward to you being a Hawk this year, Anthony. If this indeed ends your season, you will be missed and hope for the best moving forward.

Confirmed torn Achilles....different leg than last year. That is a horrible injury and to happen on both legs....yikes. I feel for the guy.

While I certainly feel for the player on a personal level, from a football perspective I just can't get upset about losing a 3rd-string TE (at a position where the top 2 are firmly entrenched) who didn't even play last season, is on a 1-year low-dough contract, and who has a history of injuries and dropped passes.

I don't think you "feel for" the player to be honest.

Do we still have that former basketball player that we had last year, his name escapes me but I remember him showing some promise...

The career arc looks a lot like WTIII, at some point he'll manage to stay on the field for a partial season, look good, and we'll let him walk in the offseason because no way are we going to commit dollars.

McCoy and WTIII are 2 guys I think of whenever I need to feel better about Okung's durability.

I really feel bad for Anthony. He is probably the nicest professional athlete you will ever meet. He is a poker player (just for fun; not really serious about it) and he plays at a local casino I play at, so I've played with him often, and from time to time I see him around town. He is always smiling, cracking jokes, and being friendly to everyone. A super nice guy.

He was wearing his Super Bowl ring once when he came in to play some cards, and he let people wear his ring and take pictures with it. People were walking around wearing his ring, grinning ear to ear. Just a class move to let "fans" enjoy the victory. He's just a blue collar guy who hasn't forgotten where he came from and he genuinely is a "player for the people."

Just sad news.

And your post makes it even sadder. Such a shame when someone's seemingly such a nice guy.

Although it was probably difficult for him to pay much attention to the 'good' achilles during rehab, I can't help but think he could have done better maintaining that one. Especially since he was most likely to favor the non-rehabbed foot. I was worried about Percy when he talked about getting used to the increased range of motion on the rehabbed side. I'm speculating that Anthony had a similar inbalance of flexibility in his heels. Tough break!

He has a brother that plays in the league if I remember. He was cut and I haven't heard of him since. His name escapes me as well.

Was it Darren Fells? I think it was Daniel Fells of the patriot's brother. Or maybe the other way around.
