Love the 'Hawks strategy and think it's all-around smart and awesome.
PC/JS have decided to economize in the OL area and to a certain extent, the WR area.

Pete & his coaches positively excel at teaching. To me, the position changes represent Pete's bet on his abilities as a coach. As with everything, you win some, you lose some. However, when they win, the win is huge, and gives the team a salary cap edge.

Speaking of position changes, recall they have also turned Bruce Irvin into a real Linebacker over the last couple years.
Sure glad they decided to switch Sherman from WR to CB. That project seems to have worked very well!

Pete and John don't get credit for that one; Jim Harbaugh does. Sort of. IIRC...
At Stanford, a tantruming Harbaugh benched then-WR Sherman when he didn't return from injury quickly enough, made him like 4th string. So Sherman decided to switch to the defensive side, since Harbaugh didn't make the decisions about who played and started there. Sherman then worked his way into a starting role as a defender.

With the termination of Lemuel's contract, it's a good bet Seattle is looking at Sokoli for the 9th/10th OL spot now.

Probably figured he wasn't going to pass through waivers.

I have to wonder how many OL they are going to pick up from other teams' castoffs once cut downs start. I put the over/under at 3, one of whom will end up starting. O

Andy Levitre might be released.

Interesting. He is 29 and hasn't missed a single game in his career -

Consistency and staying healthy would be nice. Adding Levitre or Satele would definitely help a young line. Plus the fact they are not developmental. Right now, Okung is the only guy that's not a project or developmental on the line. Britt is learning a new position (so lumping him in on developing side). Sweezy is still learning some of the nuances of OL blocking, he's getting better, but he still makes rookie mistakes at times. Nowak is new and so is Gilliam. That's a lot of new players in the line. The 2013 line had Okung, Unger, McQuistan, and Giacomini as starters from the previous year. The 2014 line had Unger, Sweezy, and Okung as starters. This year just Okung and Sweezy remain.
