Ok "can't be" wasn't said by you was a oversimplification. Why cant that fact that he was arrested and called a officer that is team friendly be enough to say that it isn't just "looks bad"? He allegedly battered his pregnant fiancé, he didn't dial 911 he did call a team cop. That is great for a CYA type thing, can anyone prove without a doubt that he did beat her no. There is way more than a reasonable suspicion that he did and the wheels of the police dept. move incredibly slow there. The men who were in the bathroom brawl however were arrested and charged in less than three days. Wonder why it is that it takes months to get a 49er to charged.
Can't answer a lot of that because it isn't answerable.
I've said from the beginning that if he's guilty I want him off the team. Period.
Him calling team security does look bad. I dunno how else to say it. It doesn't prove anything one way or the other...it simply looks bad. In the same way as Rays fiancé holding a gun until RAY called 911 several months earlier. Doesn't specifically indicate anything...but looks bad.
That cop was also the first guy on scene which suggests he was called BEFORE 911 was called...which is also odd. That's why I want to know what he was called for and more importantly what he did while onsite and what he told the officers who arrived after the 911 call. If he obstructed....that's really, really bad juju.
This is the deal tho on that officer to me...he's team security. The players are likely told to call if they need help...IE if they are in a club and some people feel the need to be tough guys with famous athletes, or whatever. These are recognizable athletes and the team will help them with security when they need it.
So, was Ray calling because he was in a bad situation and needed help or was he calling because he knew he just messed up bad and was hoping for preferential treatment from the cops. If it was the latter it appears at least so far that he didn't get it (he was arrested).
I've said over and over that I don't know what happened. I kinda believe that peeps deserve the benefit of the doubt before anything is proven. You could say that's the homer in me but I really feel that way with players on all teams and people in general. Being famous makes you a target and most often I prefer not to convict peeps until its been proven...or at the very least there is ANY information released.
