Seems to me that the extended exit of Marshawn Lynch set off a lot of roster churn at running back. None of the hold over backups stepped up and the roster churn that resulted continues on into this off season.
On defense, it seems as though a similar search for defensive back was set off by the fall off at right corner, the holdout by Cam Chancellor and the lack of depth to step up and fill the holes.
