Just another attempt to point out that the Niner D is not as good as it used to be. Fine. But, and as basically no SEA fan likes to point out, OP fails to account for the fact that the Niner Offense is much better than it was.

Plus, I think OP is obsessed with statistics. Its all he discusses. Puts a lot of effort into them tho.

Seahawks fans put so much emphasis on homefield. Sorry, the 49ers don't have CLink. Winning at home is just as good as winning on the road for the 49ers. Because that's the major difference between the 49ers and the Hawks. The 49ers win on the road no problem. Just because the Hawks struggle on the road doesn't mean every team in the NFL does. You are putting way too much weight on venue when making this analysis

Right... the Seahawks sure did "struggle" losing by an accumulative of 26 points in 6 Road Games during the 2012 season, not only with the 4th youngest roster in the league, but also giving significant snaps to rookies especially at the two most important leadership positions on either side of the ball at QB and MLB.

Only 26 points. Seahawks were in every game we played, nobody trashed us, everyone likes to critique the first 3 QTRs but Seahawks are always game in 4th.

26 points. Remember when the 49ers lost to the Seahawks (29 point deficit), remember when 9er lost to the Giants (23 point deficit). Again, in 6 losses our total deficit is 26 points.

Yeah, there was an emphasis on venue because guess what usually the home team has the advantage, their defense plays better, their more relaxed, they can feed off the crowd.

Traveling, playing 10 AM games are handicaps to West Coast teams but the Seahawks are fighters and they'll get better with more experience. Seahawks can play anybody, anywhere. They might not win all the time but they sure as hell won't be beat down.

Last time the Seahawks lost by at least 8 points was @ Dallas... Nov 6, 2011. Seahawks lost by 10.

Since then the Seahawks are an outstanding 18-9. Their accumulative loss differential in those 9 games is a whole 37 points or about 4.11 points per game. Seahawks three biggest losses in that time frame were only by 7 points (@SF '12), 6 points (@ STL '12), and 6 points (Vs WASH '11).

Given our youth, inexperience, and an ever-changing roster the last two seasons compared to most of the elite teams in the NFL, that is a pretty amazing feat.

(and really, let's face it, for every 9er fan trying to read way too much into the Hawks less than impressive offensive performance last week, there's an equal number of Hawks fans trying to read way too much into the 9ers less than impressive defensive performance. They're all being kinda silly on both sides, IMO).

But the Seahawks suck because they struggled, and the Panthers are clearly so inferior, because of insert so and so argument here blah blah, despite the Seahawks shutting them way down compared to CAR’s 2012 averages, @ CAR, as well as, overcoming many obstacles, handicaps, and significant injuries to key players.

If you'd ask me San Fran is definitely a tad bit overrated and Seattle doesn't nearly get enough respect for winning a tough, tough game for a West Coast team.

Carolina lost to Buffalo today. Panthers aren't impressive. That doesn't mean the Seahawks suck, it just means Carolina sucks.
