Broncos agree with Russell Okung, expected to trade Ryan Clady

"The Denver Broncos and Ryan Clady were in talks about a possible pay cut/restructure, but those talks fell apart recently. It was reported on Wednesday that the Broncos wanted Clady back at less than $5 million dollars per season. Obviously, Clady was not too thrilled about that and now he is likely to be traded or cut in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Clady is due a little over $10 million dollars in 2016 and has a $10.6 million dollar cap hit in 2017. The Broncos will have to find a team willing to take on that contract for a player who has missed nearly two out of the last three seasons due to injury.
It is unclear which teams will be interested in trading for Clady, but teams like the Bears, Lions, Giants, and others could be interested. If traded, the team who traded for Clady will also likely approach Clady about a pay cut/restructure."

"Clady is due to earn $9.5 million in 2016, the fourth year of a five-year contract signed after application of the franchise tag in 2013. So far, he has made $33 million but played in only 18 regular-season games.
Cutting him would cost only $1.2 million against the cap, and there’s no trigger that would force the Broncos to make a decision before Week One, when Clady’s salary becomes as a practical matter guaranteed. However, it would be prudent to resolve the situation before the start of the offseason program, since a fluke season-ending injury to Clady would put the Broncos on the hook for the full salary — and a cap number of $10.6 million."
