Problem with that is once the NBA see’s how nice the new hockey area is they are going to want to put a team back here.
If they do the Seattle SuperSonics is the only name IMHO!

Of course, there's the issue that, any other team other than the Thunder, won't be the Sonics and it will probably be, The Sonics, but.. you know, they arn't the Sonics... I think the Sonic name should just be put to rest and remembered, unless the Thunder come back of course. IDK, maybe it would work.

I'm pretty sure that once Seattle gets an NBA team again they regain the rights to the Sonics' name, history, championship, etc.

Where's the issue? They could both be the Seattle Supersonics. The St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) and St. Louis Cardinals (NFL) existed together from 1960-1987.

That is a strawman argument. None of those have an inherent negative connotation. We don't need to make it easy for other teams to make fun of us.
