I've been saying it for awhile now, I bet Vannett will step up if Graham does indeed go elsewhere. I'm not following the logic behind comments like he's "another failed draft pick" or "Vannett and Willson are similiar players”. The last two years have been all about Jimmy Graham at TE here. He put up monster numbers. And don't get me wrong, Luke is awesome for who he is, but Vannett is simply a better TE. He's a stronger blocker and is a much more natural and fluid pass catcher. He's done well with the limited opportunities he's been given.

Vannett's career totals

19 TGT 15 REC 166 YDS 1 TD

If Jimmy's gone, it should be Vannett who gets the first opportunity as the starter come off-season activities. They should sign a blocking specialist, like a Virgil Green, to a small contract and target a TE on day 3.

I think we should be looking at a Virgil Green-type in free agency if the price is right. If not, take the most balanced guy you can find after Round 4 in the draft and stick him next to Vannett.

If a Gesicki falls to say, bottom round 2, and we're in a position to snap him up, think long and hard about it.

May be we can convert one of our OL to become our goal line TE? Fant? Basketball player so good hands? What was Fant’s 40 anyways?

I imagine we go DL/someone nobody's ever heard of with our first two picks, express interest in every free agent TE to drive their prices up, then sign some backup TE nobody's ever heard of to a 1-year contract.

I'd like to see them take a chance on Eric Ebron as well as sign Willson. See if Ebron can reclaim that touted status he had back in 14 when he was selected before ODB.

Sign Tyler Eifert to a incentive heavy contract, also would mind Brent Celek on the cheap, he's old but reliable and a great blocker.

Eric Ebron and Julius Thomas can't block. Pass.

Blocking ...... I like the sound of that word.

A good word with which to reset the offense.

Eifert resigned with Cincy.

If this is true....then so much for "getting younger" being the reason for this re-boot.

It's interesting. Maybe they think vannett is not the guy which means yet again another draft bust by this fo or maybe Dickson just becomes the run blocker.

Nobody has said anything about getting younger on offense?
