When factoring years by subtraction, always add 1.
But we won it in 2013, so we did not wait 38 years, we waited 37.

Seattle won the Super Bowl in 2014.

Season tickets from 1976 -- WOW!! - NFL FOOTBALL IN SEATTLE!!

Expectations were not high, but Zorn, Sherm Smith, Largent and the others kept providing pleaant surprises - it made the 260 mile round-trip from Vancouver BC in sometimes the most outrageously bad weather worthwhile (most of the time :D )

So many fond memories -- impossible to even begin to enumerate them, but the Marshawn run vs. NO is certainly one of the standouts. I still believe that Kenny Easley is the most talented player we ever had - (maybe a tie with Walter Jones)

Anyhow ...Sunday, Feb. 2. 2014 -- all those years of frustrated expectations finally ended spectacularly.

GO HAWKS!!

I'm a 38er. The first time I saw the Hawks was the first game they ever played. As a family of Steeler fans from PA that migrated west in 1966, the 70s were a time for football.

Mom had the game going and said "oh here is that new team in Seattle". We lived in Gresham, OR at the time so the Hawks were considered a regional team. I fell in love with the uniforms immediately. They lost that day to the then STL Cardinals, but I didn't care. They were my team. I became a heavy addict immediately and as the team found some success in the early 80s I only became more addicted. I was 9 years old when the Hawks played that first game.

My first Seahawks item was an NFL pencil that you could only buy at the school to my knowledge. They were a nickel and you had to take what the machine dispensed. I wanted a Seahawks pencil so bad that instead of using the rest room, I went to the pencil machine one day with a handful of nickels. I was going to get a Seahawks pencil if I had to use them all. The first one out was silver, could it be that I hit it on the first try? Unfortunately as I turned the #2 writing device it exposed Detroit Lions. How disappointing. Then it was Oakland, then Miami and on the next try I had my Silver Seahawks weapon of grammar. I cherished that pencil because in a Steeler family, getting Seahawks gear would be next to impossible obtain. Never forget that pencil.

That Xmas my mom bought me an entire box of NFL pencils because she saw the others I had in my quest for obtaining the beautiful Seahawks pencil. Only one mattered.

Whatever the ruling is, I'm in the club.

I've said it before.
Mom and I did a little happy dance, the day we heard Washington would be getting a team. That day, i vowed to always be a fan, win lose or draw. :{)

I'm a 38er. I remember watching that first year on TV. I don't remember too many specifics, but my dad was a real big sports fan and he's always rooted for the home teams, Hawks, Mariners, Sonics and Huskies. So I remember watching the games with him as being special time spent together.

I don't hold it against anyone for being a fan less time. I don't feel a 38er makes me special at all. Matter of fact, when I get up in the morning, many times I wish i was a 15er right now. :les:

Broke my heart to lose to the Raiders after the miracle of beating the Dolphins the week before.
Ditto. Once Kreig threw the pick 6 (to Haynes IIRC.....or was it Lester Hayes?) I knew it was over.

The only exclusive club I can claim a membership of is having watched every Superbowl played and that will end unfortunately one day in the future.
I'm a member of that unique club too, all 48 of them and counting. There were a few I had to tape on VHS back in the 90s due to work to keep my streak alive, but alive it still is!
