On the positive side of the argument: Other teams have taken a lot longer to mimic Pete and John's drafting philosophies.

It's about who EXCEEDED expectations.

These type of awards are more about which coach and GM turned their organization around, or had a surprisingly good season, rather than a team like the Hawks who was expected to compete for a SB.

Now if you want to debate as to why Schneider and/or Pete didn't win last year? I'm with you.

I like how two years ago Exec of the Year went to the guy who picked Andrew Luck #1 overall.

If any of us were Colts GM and had that pick and didn't pick him we'd have been flogged.

Hardly praise worthy though.
