Once again the refs impact a game in a bad way.

It resulted in a 75 yard TD against Ramsey and the Rams. I'm cool with it

And then it ruined the game at the end giving the Rams a literal phantom first down when it should have been 4th amd goal from the eight. Refereeing changed and ruined the biggest game of the season. SAD!

There was a lot of money made tonight. SB in the Rams new stadium...It's a dream season for the Rams and Ram ownership. they are going to market the crap out of this win.... make way more than they gave to fix it...

I'll say one thing, AD and Kupp earned their money tonight.

The Ramsey one just looked like a great swim move by Higgins. The ref was behind them and no way could see it. Especially in real time when nobody saw it and it lasted about .0002 seconds long.

Funny nobody talks about the Ramsey hold that prevented a TD in the Bengals first redzone trip which was way more egregious than the phantom one at the end of the game.

I'm over it, at this point really just look for the "Cinderella story" for who's going to the SB. As the season progresses it becomes more obvious. This year it was the Rams, from the minute they signed Stafford for his "redemption" then it became more obvious when the NFL itself was more than willing to swallow and keep hush hush on AD's facemasks, and Oline men choking. To damn near all of December and the last couple weeks of November the Hugh push for Kurt Warners ******* documentary/biopic.

Last night it was just another shit show of "missed penalties". I don't even think I have enough fingers or toes, to count (I do have them all) How many times I saw AD or some other defender for the Rams lined up clearly offsides. Here's just one example of the many I'd rather not clutter this post with.

FLj1BaHUcAEvZHvformatjpgnamesmall

Couple this with the NFL's constant reminder that they're now "Proudly partnered with Sports Betting!" The game, the product and what I see on the field, just isn't enjoyable now. It leaves to many questions for me, and it feels just tainted. I'm sure there was also fucktons of money riding on this game and the Rams.

I also feel the game should've been moved to a more neutral location. All I kept hearing about was how its unfair that the Bengals due to NFL rules were the home team, when it's the Rams home etc etc etc. Kind of reminded me when Seattle played against Pittsburgh in Detroit where none other than Bettis was from, and conveniently retiring.

Certainly there were some iffy calls both ways. But damn, they were letting them play. Then magically on 3rd down they call a "hold"

Hmmmmm
I'm not in the camp that refs gave the game to the Rams, but that was pretty ridiculous. Also, they basically held the Bengals to ZERO points for a quarter and a half. Bengals had SEVERAL chances to add on points.
Rams earned this one.

It sucks when a ref call decides any game. It really sucks when it's the Superbowl. Last two minutes, after swallowing whistles all game? C'mon! Rams were going to pull ahead for the win somehow, and they weren't even trying to hide it.

The Higgins and Ramsey one was a missed call. One that resulted in a TD. But, that no call occurred at a point in the game where the Rams had plenty of time to recover. The no call at that time was consistent with the way the game was called.

That last drive….that last defensive hold…not consistent. It’s commonly known that the refs could likely throw flags on every single play. You see it at every level.

I’ve never believed conspiracy theories when it comes to sports betting or the head organization (NFL, MLB, NBA) influencing results. I chalk that up to my inherent, naive trust that wants fairness in sports. But, Brady getting another SB that was played in Tampa coupled with the Rams winning one in LA (that was complete with an LA themed halftime show), coupled with the penalties on the last drive…..

Not to mention the partnership of the NFL with sports betting organizations…There was a lot of money to be lost if Cincy won.

I don’t know what to think but I do know this game didn’t “feel” good.

Sure would have been nice to see what would have happened on 4th down. They let the players maul each other all day, then all the sudden a ticky tack call on 3rd down? As soon as it happened, you knew it was done.
It's EXACTLY what I was worried about every time the Rams played a playoff game. Will the refs help them win it.
At the same time, the Bengals sat at 20 points for a quarter and a half. They have themselves to blame too.
They had plenty of chances to at least add a damn field goal.
And the play calling on that last drive? Pathetic. 3 tries and you can't get one yard? You don't deserve a win if you can't get one damn yard.

And once again, The National Fraud League won't do a damn about their officiating problem: they won't hire full-time refs, they won't make everything (or at least more things) reviewable, etc. So frustrating.

Why would they do anything about it, it was very likely by their instruction.

I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised by this games results. This steering crap has been going on for years in the NFL, but they were just a little bit better at hiding it than the NBA or even MLB to a degree. Major League sports in this country has become far too closely associated with sports betting and gambling casinos. So it's pretty obvious that results will be steered to what the house wants to happen.

I have said this before that sports should be viewed for entertainment only. It's no different than the WWE in some ways. It wasn't this way 20-30 years ago, but it's here to stay. Just get used to it.

Not surprised one bit. In fact, I told my wife when that last drive started for the Rams "Here it comes, the Refs are about to give the Rams a gift the helps them score a TD"

Wasn't great for sure. But at least it impacted both teams.

But......why the ticky tack call on the final drive?? I think most people know why. And it's pretty obvious.

Yeah, when that call came down I could hear Stafford's voice saying "Home Cookin!" Of course that was when Stafford was in Detroit playing with Calvin Johnson, but just as obvious.

If the Bengals had won a close game that non-call would have stuck out so bad. Being on the receiving end of that and it being the difference would be pretty awful.

Bad calls (and non-calls) happen. We saw them hit both teams in this game. Sometimes a team gets disproportionately screwed and loses games because of it.

I do wonder about the people who really believe that there are actual conspiratorial things with the league and referees that happen. Why are you even still watching if you believe the outcome is already decided?

I think it was sketchy. Conspiracy? Nah.
Again, the Bengals went a quarter and a half w/out scoring to finish out that game. Rams deserved the win.
