Yeah, I figured John would get something done for the key guys. Diggs qualifies as one of those. :2thumbs:

Team now has $11.65M in available cap space and the restructures are likely done for the year.

I love the anticipation that Pete and John are getting ready to make a bold move (or two?).

Posted myself earlier after not seeing a thread on this.

Good move by Seattle to give some assurances to Diggs.

Hopefully, Diggs is more content now.

This frees up cap space for any free agent signings…

I’m sure there is more to come…

Teams are still unsure what next year and beyond will look like, cap-wise, and have been somewhat reluctant to extend players for big contracts until they know more about how it turns out. I don't blame them. Besides, there are creative ways to get players 'more money' as we have seen.

JS has done a great job of not adding cap, all while keeping players happy. It does feel like something could be brewing. I'm hoping it's them trading for a really good vet CB after week 1.

Geno Atkins. Nobody is going to touch a radioactive Richard Sherman.

The salary cap is so easy to manipulate it's laughable.

:177692: The salary cap isn't trivial to the league, teams, union, players or player agents. Although, I'm aware of those who chose to not be bothered with cap consequences and it's details ...... many chose to stay informed ...... along with multiple internet sites.

Next off season, pro rated signing bonuses assigned to a 2022 void year will all show up as dead cap money with the onset of the new year. And like last off season, we will also hear once again about cap casualties.

The New Orleans Saints were one of this year's teams that didn't find the salary cap easy to manipulate or laughable in 2021. And there were others that paid a price.

It's certainly being taken seriously this year, it dropped for the first time in idk how long. So a LOT of teams are deferring dead cap to next year in hopes that'll it'll get bumped like it always does.

Left a lot of teams scrambling, and a lot of free agents out in the cold, still.

I'm pretty sure this was the first time it went down.

The good is these key guys now feel wanted and they trust the front office to do as they say, resigning them may be a lot easier as in Brown and Diggs.

Ditto on Atkins. I don't think we need a vet CB right now. We have several new CB's that should give us good depth and competent starters.

It's DT we still could use an impact player right now. Even if only a rotation piece he is still the guy I would like to see added.

I used to disagree with you on that but you see all these teams like Saints and
Cowboys somehow get around it year after year...You just got to scam it better.
