Why not just send the cops in cop uniforms?

Add more police but, you know, let them be a presence.

I read they're gonna even go after people "being mean" to Niners fans. Ya know. Football banter

A lot of fans are going to be in for a surprise. I would kill for them to have a camera on them and publish the video.

That's really not a bad gig. The toughest part of the assignment, for me, wouldn't be dressing up in niner clothes, but not being able to openly root for the Seahawks.

Though, I wonder if they actually send undercover officers, or they just spread the word that there will be undercover officers.

Cops have disguised themselves as the criminal element for years and years now.

They're trying to set examples early and often. Of course leave it to SPD to pick this game to intentionally entrap local fans while making them look bad in front of our biggest rivals fans.

To easy to spot. Just look for the sober guy in Niner gear not trying to stab anyone.

I'd kill my first-born for that to happen at the Shtick

So they don't have to do it every game. They do it a couple of times, randomly, and after a while, disruptive folks won't know if it's a regular fan or a cop.

EDIT:
I'm betting it's more of an outside the stadium thing. Walking around during tail-gating pregame and walking around after the game.

Thats what Im wondering.... why not stop crimes before they happen instead of letting crimes happen and then punishing them?

Worst part is, the Seattle city budget is being used to buy Niner gear. Ridiculous.

I like them doing this. Get rid of the d-bags. I hope it continues. Regular banter is fine, if you're not being a total jerk-off I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

...A couple of you might want to be careful when you attend this Sunday's game, though...

They are, by making this announcement. People would just keep their eyes out and tone it down when the cops come by...by doing this, people have to tone it down due to uncertainty.

I think it's a good idea for them to be there but a terrible idea to dress as the potential targets. They need to be impartial observers not biased participants.

I assume this means that every stolen car and bicycle in Seattle has been recovered, every burglary resolved, and every wanted felon arrested? That must be what it means. That, or all the donuts are gone.

So if a Niners fan starts some mess, you can't really do a thing.
