Jimmy would be a great sign if he made 2 mil a year and they only played him in the RZ. He is a specialist and that is all. He is just a useless body outside the RZ, won't try and won't block.

He is like a short yardage back.

Richardson, meh

No way McEvoy is on the team next year. He's a poor WR and even worse on special teams. He brings nothing to the table.

McEvoy had an off year. He's actually decent on ST. Just not as much this year. As a rook he had a punt block and some other nice plays. So shocked this year when finally targeted he dropped the pass that was thrown to him.

I hope they keep him and he continues to develop.

Remember he was also a QB in HS and in college for a year, IIRC, so he has value in some trick plays.
If only it turned out McEvoy could be an NFL-quality punter, that would really get him a paycheck.

My plan to replace 16 touchdowns:

Vannett - 4
Darboh - 3
Prosise - 1 (then back to IR)
Carson - 4
Rookie RB - 6

Hey, that's 18 touchdowns! Keep the change.

I am more and more of the opinion that Wilson is a separation QB unless he has a ridiculous amount of faith in you. Baldwin gets looks because he separates. There ARE timing patterns in this O (from time to time); Wilson just isn't pulling the trigger because he doesn't like throwing into closer coverage until it's the 2nd half. If Pryor doesn't run good routes and isn't trusted by a highly underrated QB like Cousins, there's no way he'll be open enough to encourage Wilson to throw to him. That'd probably be a waste of money.

Pryor was #3 in separation per target for Cleveland in 2016 behind only AB and OBJ. That’s not his problem I think it was more mental than physical aspects that were his downfall in DC.

As others have said...let's get the run game establishwd. We will score more TDs with our running backs, plus play action passes will work.

Well, now you've gotten the offense back to...where it was in 2017, which we all agree wasn't adequate. I should have mentioned that we don't just need to replace 16 touchdowns, we need to add probably around 10 more.

Still not sure that I see Vannett coming up with four touchdowns, given that releasing Graham in a down draft for tight ends isn't likely to make life easier for him. We're trusting to an awfully unproven roster.

I kind of agree with this. Although a lot of why JG was ineffective between the 20's in my opinion is because he was frustrated with the offense and partially checked out. I remember hearing PC had to sit down with JG this season and discuss his effort. If he goes back to the Saints or something like that I have no doubt he'll put up 1k yards again and double digit TDs. Despite that, I still don't bring him back. He's just not a fit for the type of offense PC/Bevell want to run and which was painfully evident after year 1.

Also, yeah JG had 10 TD's but how many drives did he stall with crucial drops on 3rd downs or by completely whiffing on a block? There is an argument that could be made that the offense left some points on the field because of his mistakes/lack of effort too.

My issue with Graham is that he's "soft" for NFL standards. Now I know it takes extreme courage and guts to play the game, so I'm not calling him soft in general. Just in terms on how NFL players play and to their standard.

When you have someone at his status, when the going gets tough you look at players like that to carry you. Like Marshawn did and Russ does. You know that no matter how bad the day gets, they got that fight in them that gives you hope. With Graham the feeling is always like if things aren't going right, the day is done. I think that permeates into the locker room more then we think. The year we won the Super Bowl we had personalities like Red Bryant, Chris Clemons, Marshawn, Breno, Okung, Sweezy, etc. Personalities that you know If you're in a dark alley and you are about to get jumped, you're not afraid. With Graham, it feels like he'd be the first one to run.

For that reason, I don't think he's worth the money we will pay him if he stays. Replacing his TD's won't be hard because Russ will be able to spread the ball around and I'm sure we will find some other talents like we always have.

I wonder if anyone else feels this way.

Graham was brought in as a red zone target. He was and did it well. Doesn't seem to have made us any more effective though because we're our of the playoffs! So when we went to 2 Super bowls in a row, How could we have had success without those TD'S?? Well, the answer is simple, we are not, nor will we ever be an Offense first team. Russell is the king of cool when the game is on the line. If we keep it close we'll win.
