For those of you enamored with Jon Ryan, might I ask why?

In 2017 he's 21st in Average Yards Per Punt, 28th in Net YYP, and 14th in % inside the 20.

In 2016 he was 26th in AYPP, 24th in Net YYP, and 15th in % of kicks inside the 20. Two years in a row with less than stellar results.

He has two years left on his contract (600K in guaranteed money each year). He has the fifth highest cap number of any punter in 2018. Third highest in 2019.

I don't think it's even close to a given that he's back next year.

Average Yards Per Punt and Net YYP are meaningless stats for punters because they don't take into account field position.

Ryan has the 6th most punts inside the 20. Hang time, directional accuracy, and Target Distance Punted are all more important indicators than the meaningless YPP/YYP stats.

You could say that Jon Ryan's 2018 status is very much "up in the air" at the moment.

Oh, trust me I know what you are talking about, his signature image(s). I was just being 'technical' about it. Either way, that lids whole setup has grown on me. At first I thought it was him just messing up MAJOR! Then he explained why that picture of him even exists one day and now I want him to keep it like that forever!
